Dean,
This is a powerful write that is a true extension of the verse in revelations that you shared. I used to laugh at those who were always prophesying the end of the world, but today they are gaining my attention in eventful increments.
You captured a stunning picture. Not sure I would even want to be sitting under it contemplating man's future.

Your poems like this one have dark edges. I hope the moon's colour is just in passing. The internet reports that a black box has shown itself on the face on the sun (not the first time this has happened). I believe in Revelation's prophecy and looking at the symbols of the nations that confront us - this may not be the best of times. Anyway we should rejoice about our blessings whatever they are or should be. Regards Alan

Hi Dean
Your poem is such a great strong rhyming poem reminds me of the famous poem written by Edgar Allen Poe
The City in the Sea
What an excellent idea you got from sitting under the Red Moon
(when the devil was sitting on his throne in glory watching many people not asking for the forgiveness of their sins.

The picture scared me a bit, after reading it I realised the spiritual message was most powerful. I agree, the last days have been predicted and the spate of disasters round the world of late seem like a sign. You have made excellent use of language and rhyme to convey your message and with all the effects it was very striking. Faye

Hi Dean Kuch,
Interesting poem and some good and very powerful imagery to accompany it. I often marvel at the manner in which certain Christian groups in the US seem to be constantly searching scripture of doom laden prophesies. Many emminent theologians read the same passages and don't have the same eager anticipation of 'Blood Moons' - which one astronomer points out has occured in this sequence at least once every two hundred years - presaging the 'end of the world'.
That said, I enjoyed the poem and the images you used. Terrific phot of the lunar eclipse by the way.

Very good job. I think you picked the perfect picture for this message. I also wonder what is going to happen to this world and its people. I feel we are on the brink of our own destruction.

How can monsters say Allahu Akbar, Arabic for "God is GREAT," as they behead, bomb, and murder innocent women and children? No God, or person of sound mind could condone or justify these actions. How much worse can it get? Thanks for another of your great poems that makes readers think. :-)

Very cool Picts poem with a strong message of repentance,
Not a popular topic these days. The rhyme scheme and meter were excellent. I thought the Bible Verse inside the poem rather than the author's notes was a good touch.

Thanks so much, J.J., and you're right, it's not a very popular topic. That's precisely why I chose to write about it. I appreciate your kind comments.

Wow, brother, outstanding. Yep, we're right on the verge of the end and everyone just wants to close their eyes. There's rough waters ahead, that's for sure. Excellent piece, Dean. We didn't get that red of a moon in Florida. Or at least not where I was. Keep it up, friend, maybe you'll open an eye or two.
Have a good one.

Thanks, a bunch, Ron, and that's a shame you didn't see it the way we did here in Ohio. It was blood red, and humongous! Eye opening is what the writing biz is all about, my friend. Or at least, it should be.
