Good, you had a great night.
I always said, and many thought me mad- the simplest things are the best in life. 'Yes please,' no thank you' , 'may I help you?' 'can I do that for you?
These are the things that hold me dear. The, of course, the simple hug. Perfect.
Best wishes, Deb,
RG

A hug or a touch can mean so much. I make sure I touch each of my students every morning. Some I hug, some I just touch their arm, depending on the child. You are right, it does mean a lot.

Another heartfelt, beautiful poem. It's true, sometimes a hug can make the day better. You worded this story perfectly and in rhyme, without even trying.

Well done, my friend,
Lots of hugs :):):) to you,

Liandra

Wonderfully written Debbie, and I especially enjoyed your author notes. A hug is truly a special gift and there is nothing quite like it, hugs warm the soul. :-)Carolyn

Sounds like a shy group, but you came thru beautifully. And you are so right about hugs. My hubby hugs me all the time... and I miss it when he's out of town. Lovely poem, Debbie. And here's a hug for you. {{{{Debbie}}}}

Hugs--just the act of physical touch can be so very healing. When I worked with the elderly, I always held their hand, of if feeding them, would place my hand on their back. I was the only one who could get some to eat. The power of touch is a mighty as the power of the pen. Take care, my friend. Enjoy your friday~Debbie

Hi Debbie,
I love this sentiment... as a younger man, my only physical contact was sex... not growing up with physical contact from either parent, not only stunts ones social abilities it also creates a barrier to be able to comfort... how could I ever live without it now discovered? No, I couldn't, and I pity those that can and do. For a hug has so many dimensions to it that it can not be defined or categorized... so for this true delight of a poem, I send you one meaningful virtual hug of caring and comfort... beautiful!

With our thoughts we create,
unspoken communication,
James xx

Thank you, James. I grew up in a touch-less and almost non-communicating home. Somewhere along the line, I did realize the power of a hug and give them freely. It was a blessing to have an unexpected one happen, especially after an already delightful night. Take care, dear friend. Sending virtual hugs and prayers for your difficulties to lessen ~Debbie xx

Debbie, after reading authors notes it put perspective to your poem And a great deal it did. Touching within itself whether be a hug or shake of her hand is a gesture most pleasing to everyone. But especially a hug can bring ones to a smile and to letting one's feelings go. Thank you for a very inspirational and stimulating piece of poetry which showed your inventiveness and creativeness. Thank you for sharing and posting your work for others and may the Lord be with you always.

I like the proximate rhyming of make/appreciate
good use of enjambment
good alliteration in someone suffering so
a thoughtful look at the power of a hug

Thank you, Brooke. Loose rhymes, inconsistent syllable count and meter. It just spilled out when I arrived home and I left it that way. I'm glad you like it~Debbie

Debbie, how special the night was for you! The drought of human touch has its effects on us as humans. How very thoughtful and kind of him to display himself as your equal. The write is meaningful and needs no restrictive form in the same manner that we need not a formula for hugs. (A miniscule thing in your notes-short is spelled shut.) Well done! :0 GracieAnn

Dear Debbie - I could feel the joy in this work. The ability to take in love on a purely friendship basis and feel the happiness seep deep into weary bodies.
A wonderful work, well penned, strong emotion and imagery.
Thanks for sharing it.
