This is quite apt for me at the moment, and a good life lesson in this poem Brooke. Isn't it always so peaceful to simply stand and watch and feed the ducks slowly gliding along. Lovely read, lovely photo.

Yes, I love my ducks too. There is a park nearby where my late mother used to spend a lot of time. Those ducks are so cute - they swim very close to you asking for food.

Nice rhymes and flow, Brooke.

Anxiety can rule our days
with worries it has brought us,
or we can live contentedly
with what the ducks have taught us.

Nothing pacifies our souls like wildlife and nature.

Beautiful, Brooke. The ducks have the right idea. Worry is the worst use of time. It never helps and leaves you in anxiety for naught, usually. Stay in the positive! Good one, Miss Sally

There's a calmness to this poem. The kind you think about when catching a glimpse of the sunset. Your are so right that we can learn from ducks. They trust the water to hold them up. They don't need to test it ,or ask another duck to go and have a look see. We need to do that. Trust in the choices we make and not worry about this or that because we just might miss it. Wonderful poem and you picked a great picture.

Hello Brooke,
The thought comes to mind, "Like water off a ducks back." Which, I've always taken to believe, mean they don't let much bother them. I appreciated your profound thoughts referring to trust as a mechanism for a productive life. Wonderful rhyme and meter made for an enjoyable read. All my best, Bill

There's so much we can learn from animals and you've expressed that very well in this poem. Well written as always, an enjoyable read.

The secret is to find something to trust in, then like the ducks, be satisfied with what you have, as the grass is not always greener on the other side.
Sometimes we need only to breathe a while, settle and think, hold anxiety at bay.
Good write,
Best wishes,
RGstar

I think that like the ducks I will allow troubles and worries to just roll off my back. Much like water rolls off the backs of ducks. Thank you for writing this beautiful and thoughtful poem. It has brightened my day.

How very true this is. Thanks for sharing this. I have been feeling stressed lately. This reminded me feeling that way is optional. Great poem, my friend~Debbie

Good poem Brooke. Maybe we are the only species who suffer from anxiety. Perhaps we know the pitfalls but I do know a lot of animals do have stress type symptoms and trees, etc do get stressed in the wrong conditions. So we are not alone. All nature has its problems. Regards Dorothy
