Hi Amada, this story held such elegant intrigue. I almost tiptoed over to see this lady in her glory. You penned the story well and I was sad when it ended. So we all live and walk the path of life until it comes to an end.
Well penned. Best wishes for the contest. luv jada

I enjoyed you nonfiction story about your lady Garbo, how you were fascinated by her for years. I found it intriguing Our beauty and our vigor fades and leaves after the years. This is the sad part of life. Yet every age has its compensations.

well written. good luck in the contest Mary

Hi. Wow, what a great ficional tribute to one of the world's enigmas. I loved the progresssion and the end of not wanting to see her stooped to age....I saw Cahterine Hephburn in her last years, walking on the beach, all I could do was hold my dogs back and bow my head.

How delightful the story of this enigmatic character, so beautifully transported from your mind pictures, and to span it over time with the growing of juniper shrubs is very clever writing. My very best wishes for the competition, Giddy

i am wondering if you are referring to the ghost of Greta Garbo, or to some energy that had her physical characteristics. This is a well written post.

I enjoyed the way, you played around with the mystery and allure of the Garbo Lady, your respect to her, bordering on reverence and putting her on a pedestal. But life has a way of making us realize that even the high and mighty can be floored down to their knees, when death calls on them, we are all the same. Thanks for sharing.

Amada, your story, The Garbo Lady is a beautifully written, lyrically worded tale, rife with rich descriptive adjectives and simile. I found myself wondering if this mysterious woman was perhaps a homeless lady who had found a beautiful hat, and that hat transformed her in your eyes into something majestic and regal. When she lost her hat, her luster faded, and she became dull and commonplace.

In any event, it is a wonderfully written metaphor on aging, and how the years wear us down, eventually changing us. Sometimes for the better, and sometimes...not so much.

Well done, and best of luck to you in the contest.

A very enjoyable text. The words flowed beautifully. Your subject of aging was expressed very well and how the seasons of life changes us all. I wish you the bet in the contest.

earth felt, then ... my ahh of delight, the full rich spacious chocolate brown hat!. Rich, slow, mystical. I had a sense of()same ...should the word THE be in here?

was seeing much more (that) I could ever see or comprehend. Her hands reposed by her side. It seemed to me she was ...shouldn't this word be then/than

Wow totally impressed with this writing. Real writing. Blessings. Barbara
