A beautiful poem about the wonderful species we have on our plant. Very true we love some and hate others. But the ant is an amazing insect to watch at work. If we humans could be like them how they all cooperate with each other, it would be a much better world.
The photos of Sawyer are fabulous, especially the tortoise. My grandson adores them, he had one for years it died when he got another it died very quickly.

Well done. Mary

He sure is a source of enjoyment. Boys, especially little boys, sure do love insects and every critter that crawls - ants are not the most popular traceable source of interest - especially when the get in your pants! Enjoyable, loving poem. Hugs.

Love the series of ant sighting photos, Brooke. The true wonder of childhood. Get on your belly and get eyeball to eyeball with the ant. Lol

Another masterful write for Sawyer's book. I like the ways you bring in other things but keep fanning his interest in the ants, who are obviously cultured to a high degree. Thanks for sharing this with your admirer, Bob

From one extreme to the other Brooke. You really have found a delightful way to say all God's creatures great and small. (I hope I got that right.) "flamboyance" and "annoyance" is inspired rhyme as is "pizzazy" and "jazzy". Actually, there were a number of creative and highly unexpected rhymes throughout and I just love that and of course, "..then, there is the ant". a

Brilliant, Brooke, and I am so happy I have sixes left to give it to. Excellent imagery. Delightful easy rhymes. You touched on so many delightful creatures including daffodil, my favorite flower (and yours).

This was dynamite:

The whale's the wonder of the sea,
the peacock is pizzazzy,
and rainbow blooms of jellyfish
are positively jazzy.

And this is just a simple delight:

The world is filled with polliwogs
and puffins that enchant,
humongous hippopotami --
and then, there is the ant.

I love how it appealed to all senses - visual, auditory and sensory. I just love reading it out loud.

Thumbs up, Brooke.

Hi Brooke,

This is a fabulous write! I think it would make a wonderful children's poem.

Terrific imagery (daffodil in frilly skirts) and humour ("and then, there is the ant").

Loved your "jazzy/pizzazzy" rhymes. Very cute pictures (that is nothing new, but always delightful to see Sawyer).

Really enjoyed this write!

Connie
