Delightful, as always. I thought this was going to wind up as a moral tale, reminding us that the ant, though unappreciated like his more audacious creatures, if nevertheless highly productive and useful. :)

And the ant is perhaps the most industrious creature on the planet, able to lift many times its weight. Rainbow blooms of jellyfish- really like how you use blooms to segue into daffodils. Jazzy and pizzazy- no other way to say it-this is full of pizzazz. The photo with Sawyer on the sidewalk- is that an anthill he is watching?

ravenblack, thank you so much :-) Yes, it is an anthill. His morning walk tripled in time yesterday because he kept stopping to point the ants out to his mother. LOL :-) Brooke

I really thought this was lovely. So playful - the rhyming was perfect and the use of alliteration would be so appealing to a child Sawyer's age. I hope you do well in the contest.

This lovely rhyming poem gives a glimpse of childhood that drew us to study the peculiarities on the tiniest things. the ant is most interesting to be sure. Great pictures to compliment the poem.

Ah, yes the ant. I recall stepping on one and spent months morning its death at my hands (or foot to be more accurate). What a lovely, delightful, and entertaining poem, for both Sawyer, and the hard working and unappreciated ant. Great work with this one. Terrific photos of Sawyer investigating and enjoying the wonderful world all around him. I really enjoyed this one.

Miranda said their twenty minute daily morning walk turned into an hour because he kept stopping and excitedly declaring, "Look, ant!" LOL Thanks so much, Valerie :-) Brooke

Thanks for the heads-up on jelly-fish, Brooke. I call them a stinging BLOOMing pain in the butt. :-)
Love the 'picazzy/jazzy' fun rhyme.
The 'fruitful/truthful' rhyme made me snigger out loud at its ironic truth.
Loads of top alliteration which isn't over the top and adds extra flow and interest.
Excellent and much fun read.
Best wishes, Ted

Ted, thanks so much - I prefer to swim in pools, so jellyfish don't bother me. LOL Brooke :-)

Good job with your Quatrain contest entry. You make it look so easy! My favorite stanza is the pizzazzy and jazzy ones and then "there is the ant." Love it, Brooke. 8-)
