I don't mind having those nights... except I need a guy. It's not so fun alone. Thank you
Have a great week :)

you will find one have no fear when it does you will be surprised for he was there under your nose but you just didn't see him for what a kind person he is

Your poem is light-hearted, with a whimsical ending. Drinking sparkling wine and flopping on the couch-what could be better? Wine and love is a classic pairing that works with this elegant but sweet poem.

ALCOHOL, seems to release our inner emotions we hide. Don't believe alcohol is the culprit, but the excuse in that who we want to be. There's an innocence to this, as there is to our being. Thanks for sharing. Les

Hi, Sunni,
"Wine and Love" is an excellent rhyming couplet structured poem with good rhyme except that the last couplet is a slant rhyme. I believe wine is a typical Greek inspired subject. Bacchus and all that. Good luck in the contest.

A beautifully worded poem, sounds like the years back in the acid/weed era of 1960/70s when those wonderful days slipped by effortlessly! Well done, Alicia, blessings, Roy.

You express the joy of life in your poem and loves sometimes go well with wine and poetry, as the poet Omar Khayam used to say. You have a way of your own with words and this is what makes the style of a writer.
