I sat in contemplative silence after spending time visiting with your poem. Then walked through the garden of your author notes. What then came to mind were the whispered mental words; "Be careful what you ask for". Most writers desire attention and acceptance be granted their work. Yet, was that really the true purpose of their words. Was it not the hunger for expression that commanded the insatiable search for the perfect writing recipe? Accolades and fame may serve the ego, but at what cost to the freedom of the words freedom and exploration? Is not the real measure of success the completion of the work itself? Perhaps it is not as important as I thought for my work to be read. The important thing is that it was written. The author often if a thief. They steal the praise and recognition deserved solely by the words.
I am thankful your poem and I had this chance encounter. I needed to hear what it had to say.

I guess all of us reading this can understand the writing that no one wants to read then you go on into a great story that gave me a chuckle at the end when he leaves his readers wanting more.Great setting with the videos in between. Really enjoyed this one.

Top notch poetry, as usual. Creative animated pictures add depth and impact as they underline the message conveyed. The story about the frustrated writer with fickle fans rings true. Many writers can identify.

A wonderfully philosophical look at writers and writing. So much truth is spoken in those words. The author writes but it is the readers who validate the characters he or she created. Loved the way this ended. Deserves applause. Its awards have certainly been earned.

Thank you, Just Pete, I'm really glad that you could relate to it. It was written for everyone,but primarily for writers who struggle with many of these moral and philosophical questions everyday. Who am I doing this for, myself, my readers, or both?

It's a potential answer to your question as to how fan might react to the demise of their favorite characters. Personally, the guy tossing his old typewrite to the floor describes how I feel most of the time about my writing. Doubt I will ever go the publishing route, at least no anytime soon.
Enjoyed this story in a poem. Had everything a story should have. Well done....

Thanks, Donya, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me about this. I feel the same way about throwing my writing tools on the floor at times, whatever they may be at the time. Funny you should mention Misery. I was thinking of old Annie Wilkes when I wrote this.

Guess the crazies do have a certain amount of ownership, they think...that can easily turn to hate...because their crazy, ha ha. I believe you might be thinking of MISERY here, justjo. I thought of the crazed Annie Wilkes, the main female character in the book, as I wrote this.

Yes...Misery! I cheated...I read the last few chapters, which were so grisly...I thought no...I'm NOT reading that! I sit up by myself at night reading..and anytime I want something from the kitchen...I have to walk past the basement door...been here 15 years...still creeps me out! I loved your poem...at least no one got their kneecaps shattered, ha ha!
