An interesting poetic summation of what could be described as most of our ordinary workaday lives- makes one wonder what it is really all about- I wonder if there is another way LOL Nice pic.

The artwork is awesome and perfectly illustrates this realistic and well written poem. In the first stanza you describe so well the fuss of her working days which turn into years until she can accomplish her dream to fly. Your poem has a bitter humor - it expresses the reality and sadness of life.

I love this piece. 'Delayed Flight' is such a clever title for this lifetime awaiting to travel to those dreamed-of destinations. With her scrimping and saving she certainly deserved this first class take off. This is a strong contest entry.

Your poem reminds me of years ago when my father would fly. It was always a special occasion that required that he wore a suit and tie. This is how it was in those days. It's a different story now as flying is so much more routine. Your poem stirs such memories. It flows so easily and the end rhyming is great. Good luck with the contest.

A clever poem giving us a glimpse into one woman's life and dreams..A little sad that when she finally has the means she is with cane and elderly, but it's never too late. The picture reminded me of my mom that came across the world to visit me when she was 83,such an adventure for her, Bravo Judester
