What a great home and surroundings.

When we visit the home we have lived in for a long time

Brings back many memories.

We can't retrace our steps back in time.

Dear Walt - This has that old warmth of home, life on the farm, the hard work needed and in some way always a test to the family itself. More rugged and yet I think a truer way to live off the land. I liked this one - had me pondering simple living though harder on the body it does indeed feed the soul as well.
Great work - I enjoyed reading it.

Not my favorite style but I think you did what you meant to do, and the capital BITTER lower-case sweet life of the
farmer come through. They killed my pet pig in 1948.

I assume last word of 2nd line of 2nd stanza should have been "field." Was good thought of old times, the little snippets enticing a larger memory. Well done.
