Yes, all of us need friends and on gloomy cloudy days, they are the light to drive the blues away. When the wind takes away our sails, they will give us one for our birthday (hopefully).
When they got a friend in us, surely, they will be great friends to us in times of need.
Great write and well penned. Loved the story.
Cheerio, hugs, Ritchie. :))

There was definitely a tune running through my head as I read this sweet piece.

Wasn't there a Disney song .. You have a friend in me .. or something like that? This has the same gentle, kind feel to it.

This one chould be set to music, Brooke.

Love,

xx

Sonali :)

A great poem, I really enjoyed reading it! It captures the loyalty of friendship very well, and I really liked that about it. Its a great poem.

Brooke, I love the way you weave your words. You have good control of these odd rhyme schemes. Sweet, touching poem. Nice picture of Sawyer, too.

Just wonderful Brooke! This one is a keeper! Great rhyme and flow - not too short but not too long. Conveys such a wonderful and heartfelt message.

This is the kind of message I think we would all like to receive. I love the examples you've used and the skillful rhymes. This has a nice cadence to it as well. You have a knack of choosing the rhythm to match the message somehow.

An enjoyable read, Brooke. The little lad looks tired. He's so cute!

This is a lovely poem full of heart and love, it really is special, it's obvious there is nothing you wouldn't do for that little chap, I loved your wording and my favourite line is " and should a cloud conceal the moon " great job,
Andrew

This is a good poem, the first line, made me laugh
"when breezes still your bright balloon." I can just see the look on a child face if that happens. This line goes well with the picture but your poem "You have a friend" is
priceless- it is warm and assuring.

Good luck in whatever you write.

Well rhymed with an excellent rhythm. Adorable little fella, I think he's longing for bed, not a friend.

" There's nothing I won't try to do
to keep a frown away from you." -- every gram's credo

He looks like he will be happy to maybe take a nap along the way, so precious is a child. Lovely poem as always. Mom's in Heaven you know already. The funeral will be in Ohio on April 22nd. I'm fine but it will take some regrouping. God loves you and so do I.
