Does this poem also apply to jada. :) bit depressed this evening. But tomorrow will be a bright new day. Loved this poem about being there as a friend. Wish little Sawyer would give us a smile. He's always smiling. Guess he can have an off day too.
Well penned. luv jada

Jada, it most certainly applies - I'm sending you a bouquet of smiles :-) Thank you, my friend. He wasn't really sad - this picture was taken as they were about to drive home from a very busy day :-) Brooke

Golly, I surely would like to have a friend like you... and be able to be the friend your poem describe! This tribute to friendship warms my heart. The rhymes and near-rhymes (bloom/tune) belong where they are. Your poem lightened the heart of this reader. Love the photo of Sawyer! Thank you!

This poem (octogram) has a very friendly tone that makes the reader feel that the sentiment is for him/her. A calm and friendly image as well.

What is more special than friendship. To foster it we need a bonding of self sacrificing natures. In the very young it is a crucial learning process; a learning to be aware.
The most poignant example of friendship can spring from the most unlikeliest of partnerships with the very sacrifice of one's life. In the Tale of Two Cities a profligate sinner does just that and nearing his end he says; "It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done. it is a far, far better sleep that I go to, than I have ever known." I have a friend who has assured me that he would stop a bullet for a friend. I hope he never has to be tested. -Ekim777

Geez, Brooke, you're making me cry. This is so wonderful, I don't know what to say! How very, very sweet the sentiment and the mental imagery - you are the best, lady!!!

I WISH I had a six for this special poem!!! (And what a heart-wrenching picture of my little buddy...sigh... -too cute!)

This poem would help cheer up a child when they are sad. Even for adults, it is always nice to know we have a friend.

Oh, what an adorable poem, and Sawyer can post for a magazine in that photo! Sally was very clever for creating an octogram, though I've never tried my pen to it.

Excellent repetition in "I'll be your friend". Very convincing.

These were sooo good:

When breezes steal your bright balloon,
I'll be your friend,
and should a cloud conceal the moon,
I've light to lend.
If trees reach out to snatch your kite
before it has a chance at flight,
I'll find another one to send,
for I'm your friend.
