Great chapter, Snod. I really enjoy the character, Shades. He presents as sexy, yet mysterious. The hints of his past with the army is interesting. I'm sort of hoping he will play a bigger part in upcoming chapters(?)

Thanks. Yes, I want him to be the eye candy, but he's got to be interesting enough to attract Ess. I think he'll play a part later, but not the hero to the rescue, I think. That's her job

I love your characters. Love the way Ess and Shades are with each other. I enjoyed Ess's assessment of Oz. "Yes, Oz would enjoy that immensely. No one else would, but he'd be in his element." Great writing, snod. Didn't spot any spags.

Thanks, glad you liked it. I must admit, I'm finding Shades a challenge. I want him to be the arm candy, to play the traditional foil to the hero that the dumb blonde usually plays, but he has to be enough of a challenge that Ess would go for him in the first place. He might even twist his ankle and have to be rescued in the nick of time. But he's not going to cry. Probably.
