This one dampened the old cheeks here and I am out of 6's so I give a virtual 6 and a real deal 5. I am sorry for your 'loss' as much as I am sorry for Granddad's loss and I wish you luck in the contest - Dinah

I'm sorry about your grandfather's dementia. I don't what to say, but I suspect most of us will get a turn. I have not a tried a '2-10-2' poem but sometime I'd like to give it a shot. Your poem looks like a good example. Good luck in the contest.

Oh my, this is so sad and really hits home for me. I have an uncle who I dearly love in a nursing home suffering from Alzheimer's. He doesn't recognize me, yet I still see that mischievous spark in his eyes from time to time.

Very good write. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Dean for your lovely feedback. Sorry about your uncle, it's an awful illness... it is wonderful to see a flicker of their old self in an expression or in the light in their eyes. Each tiny 'real' moment is one to hold on to... Thank you for your good luck wishes too. I appreciate it. Kindest regards...:)

It is a sad time when the elderly begins to lose their memory. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words. Good luck in your contest.

This must be sad, I'm sorry. But you should understand that he forgotten you because of an illness. Deep inside his soul he still longs for his loving granddaughter. Pray to God that you will accept such situation easily.

Hi bulletski, thank you for your lovely feedback. I understand it isn't Grandad's fault, the dementia is to blame entirely. I'm accepting of how things are, it just saddens me that's all, he was such a vibrant man. Kindest regards...:)

I really like the poem, its subject is engaging. It flows well and the reader can really understand the subject. It did a great job of capturing emotions.
