A brother can easily remember a sister's mannerisms and those will definitely show through all the face lift. It will confuse Hamid for a while but once he sees her together with her father and Edward I dread to think what the outcome would be from all quarters.
Enjoyed this chapter. Being away I have all the sixes I want to give away and I think there's no one better than you to have one.
Cheers,
Sylvia

Oh, look at that sixer! Thanks so much. And yes, while Ari might not recognize her, a brother would on so many levels. No, she'd better not meet with them anywhere.

    I think they're going home.

    Hugs and thanks,

The moon, undaunted, zipped beneath the clouds that floated over its face. It was a night to write home about.(lovely description)

The bones accompanied the meat like some kind of artistic tepee, standing tall and proud with their little ankle puffs raised in the air, and yet, totally superfluous to the meal. Succulent medallions of beef, beautifully arranged on the plate, nestled in a dab of sauce. They awaited the fork. Neither knife, nor hardly a tooth needed to enjoy these incredible, melt-in-your-mouth morsels
( you are making me so so hungry)
So sorry I missed a bunch of this. I just haven't had enough time to come here like I would like to do. I saw not a single nit and realized how much I enjoyed this book.
hugs Heidi

Hello my sweet friend, and look at you, bearing sixes! Thank you so much.

Couldn't you just see that plate? Gosh, I miss catering.

Thanks so much and hope all is well with you and Joe,

I don't, I was just in the local library and I overheard this guy talking to Ruth, the librarian, about how two cooks quit today, and he hasn't off and he work 14 hours yesterday, bla, bla, bla. I said, I'm so glad I don't do the S%^& anymore.

She has narrowly escaped her brother a couple of times now, but he won't be going home until he finds her and kills her. I hope Julia isn't stupid enough to meet with her father at Ella's. That's one face that her brother would recognize and then he would know that Hali was in fact in LA. Love where this is going.

What a great chapter, Gayle. You kept me gripping the edges of my seat with the chance that Hamid might identify Hali/Julia. And you set the scene, as always, in such a way that I want to run out and get myself some food! Great attention to details and terrific action make this truly an exceptional chapter, my friend.

Hugs, Bev

Oh my, a great sixer! Thank you so much for the great comments. This one just came together. Now, we've got to stop meeting at restaurants and get some action going, lol.

Rex is getting dusty, just sitting on the shelf!

Again, Bev, thanks so much for everything.

Close calls everywhere. It seems like a shame to let Hamid and his crew corrupt Ella's by eating there. Amy might have smelled a rat.

Sorry I was so long getting to this one. I've been busy rehabbing another old house. Some people never learn. :-)

Hey Freddie, like ships in the night. They're bound to collide soon!

Thanks for the great comments and take care with the rehabbing! Very fulfilling when it's done, though.

Hamid would be quite perplexed, and I for one can't wait for the next time he hears Julia speak. I have a feeling of impending doom, and certainly some close calls for some of your characters. Great writing, Giddy

Wow. A tremendous amount of story progression on a variety of levels is happening in this chapter!

Brad and Julia's dinner outing nicely reinforces Julia's background (heritage and medical both)to balance her calm demeanor after killing Ari. Hamid and Assad's entry to Ella's allows yet further clarification of cultural differences, albeit from the male pov, while heightening reader concern for Julia's discovery. That a lot of thought was given to chapter planning shows through your attention to detail. Including letting readers meander through a wonderful meal (diffusing the day's angst) before bumping eyes onto the new trio. Nicely done :-)

To close with Hamid and Assad dealing with confusion about Hali, who couldn't possibly speak, reveals they haven't discovered the clinic visit - yet.

Must add - Fun to read of the Poodle entry, too; a perfect foil.

Hi Helen, well we packed this one full to the brim! Poor Rex! Talk about bored and underutilized. His time is coming, for sure.

Always so good to hear from you, my friend, and your take on how we're progressing. Glad you liked the poodles, lol. Gotta give some other breed a shot!

    Hugs and big thanks,

Hi Gayle :)

Outstanding chapter, impeccable prose and description.

I'm tossing in a virtual "Sixer" to go with the real one just for good measure.

Your chapter ending couldn't be any better.

The following passage is a gem among others in the chapter:

They watched the night settle in and shivered lightly. He pulled her close and kissed her cheek. Only the most intrepid of stars insisted on peeking out of
the scudding clouds and making their presence known. The moon, undaunted, zipped beneath the clouds that floated over its face. It was a night to write home about.

* * * *

I'll have an order of that meal, wine and all.

You've obviously done some fine dining a time or two.

* * * *

I don't know what Ouzo is? Chances are, other readers don't know what the word/dish is either.

* * * *

Perfectly written, every paragraph.

Ted

Hey Ted, wow, a sixer! You saved one back just for me! Thanks.

Ouzo is a sweet, anise-flavored aperitif that Greece is known for. Very strong, lol. Jeff and I love to go out to eat and we're blessed with so much great dining nearby, we get to eat all kinds of unusual things.

thanks again for the great comments and for that sixer and a virtual! Whoopie!

I'll take your word for it, but I still don't know what 'Ouzo' is :)

Well, your wonderful food descriptions always stir up my appetite and make me stop reading to go eat. Not that I need it. Thanks for another great chapter that keeps me tuned in, never knowing what to expect next. Great job. :-)

Hey Ric, that's the one thing all my readers say - Gayle always makes me hungry!

Glad you liked this one, now I've got to get Rex something to do besides walk around town eating bones!

Moving right along--I can just imagine Hamid's surprise when he finds out it was Hali..that should be fun.
I spotted just a couple of things you might want to look at:

update from (the)Cedar-Sinai hospital - Hospital

He'd first realized that [about her] back at the clinic - probably don't need wording because it follows with...those days when her face...

standard(-)sized poodles

poodles who knew just how gorgeous they were - really? And, have you checked my profile photo? I believe I could give them a run for their money! lol

Best wishes,
Rita

Well, I did, indeed, which is why they're poodles!! Of course, they're super-sized so they could get in the way, lol.

Glad you're liking this one. I'm doing do much editing after submission, it's going to be a whole new book by the time it's published.

    Thanks so much, Twinnie,
