finding perfumed pools
of sugar by the hour .. love these lines
drops of fragrant gold
contained in every flower. .. and these :)
You've done it again, Brooke - a pretty, perfect little olde worlde- style masterpiece!

I love the beauty of the language and the endearing message here. I especially like "awash in waves of succulence", and "I'd harvest drops of fragrant gold". Wonderful parallel between the life of the bumblebee and ours. :) Alanna

This is ingenious. A clever thought about wishing to be a bumblebee. As you describe it, being a bumblebee would be pleasant work--exploring fields of clover and harvesting the nectar. Excellent rhyme, and I love that word succulence. "Awash in waves" has a great sound. Finding seeds of joy will work for the human population. Very upbeat and bouncy. judi

Herein lies the mystique that is poetry - stanzas containing images that transport the reader beyond his/her regular realm 'harvest drops of fragrant gold'.

Hi Brooke, you have penned a happy and playful little ditty here. The rhythm is catchy and constant throughout and I love your whimsical observations of this insect that even had Charles Darwin doubting his own theory of evolution. Would be a delightful addition to any children's book. Great stuff...Chris. :-)

Love your poem and the way you tell of a bee's sweet addiction. Good thing nectar isn't like chocolate, or there would be none left for the bees after chocoholics are let loose.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Very good Sawyer. I will invite you and your Bee friends to my place since we seem to be short on them. Another goody Grandmother. Shalom.
