"awash in waves", "perfumed pools", "bumble bee" are all great alliterations and "succulence' is the best description I have heard for what a bee may think if he could think whilst supping at a flower. A lovely metaphor for a couple of things in my mind. For spring herself and of course, for we, the benefactors of all things beautifully natural. xx Carol

This poem is damn-near perfection. I don't think I've read anything so sweet & simple & uplifting. No analysis here. Just a straightforward message with layers of analogy to life. Just seek the sweetness. It doesn't get any sweeter than that. Thanks for sharing.

Lucky for us they do, because the cross pollination of bees is so essential to the overall health of our ecosystem, and a necessary cog in the production of natural food sources.
Wonderfully done, Brooke, and the alarming number of bee colonies that are disappearing is alarming. Without a sufficient number of bees, we're all goners...

When one wishes for something and it unobtainable, the prudent thing to do is find something that is achievable. That is what the poet has done by looking for sweetness in places of joy, places where bumble bees can't gather honey.
