It is so nice to read an upbeat poem! There have been a lot of depressing posts today. I always know what you write will have pleasing rhythm and rhyme. This one is a perfect reminder of the sweetness in this life. Excellent. Blessings, Linda

I was always a fan of the bumble bee when I lived in Scotland (you don't get them in Australia). They seem so busy and intent on going about their business, and unless you accidentally disturb one, they are not at all aggressive. They will sting only as a last resort, because when they do they die afterwards.
Thanks for the memories, Brooke.

Paddy

This is just beautiful Brooke. You've used some beautiful words - 'awash in waves of succulence' and 'perfumed pools' to create images and a mood for the reader to lose themselves in. Great graphic as well.

A great picture and an even greater poem. The bumble bee is an odity and defies the laws of gravity. Apparently, it shouldn't be able to fly at all but it can.

Please say hi to Sawyer for me. I love this poem. I love the winsome nature of it. Quite often people who are observant can notice facets of the insect or animal worlds and see something that seems to be quite admirable about them. This is another wonderful example of your considerable talent. Good job.

You write with such simplicity and yet your profound poetry hits the spot every time.

A beautiful poem about the humble bumble bee, and that we should all rejoice in the joy of life.

Just beautiful Brooke

kind regards
trimple :)

What an uplifting and inspiring write to brighten the day. The choice of the bumble bee creates the excitement of spring coming soon with the bright color of the insect and its buzzing sound. Sawyer must never have been stung if you likes them.
Excellent meter and rhyme. Great alliteration in bumble bee and perfumed pools.

Thanks so much, Debi - Sawyer has felt pain when he fell and hurt himself, but I think that's the only kind of injury he has sustained so far, so he's pretty much not afraid of anything at the moment. He has a lifetime to start accumulating that kind of experience, sadly :-) Brooke

Oh, Brooke, your delightful, oh so heavenly, a picture, drew me in - and the verse was just as heavenly. As always, your poetry is rich, potent, fragrant with all the scents of the on-going season and joy-de-vivre in general, and so uplifting.

Just listen to these:

I wish I were a bumble bee
exploring fields of clover,
awash in waves of succulence
by time the day is over.

What a delight to an ear. You are a word artist, Brooke.
