Finding joy and love can be a scary thing for most as all we've ever known is the love around us which all the married couples...they're love isn't something to be jealous of. Most people are just jealous, cheating, yelling and fighting and nothing to really long for. It takes a special person to come along and show you what love really is and that it's nothing to be afraid of.

Nora looks so happy and healthy - and, as you always do, you've enshrined a beautiful thought in a temple of superb verse. Great photo, great poem.

Children run to joy without the caution that might keep adults from embracing the possibility of love waiting for them. Lovely poem and message, Brooke. Both families are lucky to have each other.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Such a beautiful piece of poetry Brooke, it is so lithesome in that is bends so poetically upon the tongue and is such a joy to read.

I truly enjoy reading your poetry. Sorry for the lack of a six, my harvest basket was robbed. :)

Brooke, Powerful message, beautifully phrased. We tend to make love much more difficult than it need be. I love the last 2 lines, the answer to the why.

Children learn the word stranger before they learn the word friend sometimes. We live in such a troubled world. It is such a joy to see children, and adults alike, running to each other with love, trust and confidence, that it will be returned in a healthy manner. Well done Brooke, Carolyn

Thank you so much, Carolyn - yes, it is tragic that a small minority present the possibility of danger, enough to make everyone have to be guarded. I say this about so many things - how much worry and money could we save if we didn't have to bar our doors against rapists and thieves, if we didn't have to spend millions in security at stores to protect against shoplifters, and the list goes on and on and on. This is a wonderful rispetto, Brooke and thanks to Mirande
Nora grows up as a happy girl. I wished I had such a loving family in my childhood. I saw it from others and thought: I want it too. ... Hugs were very rare in my childhood...
Great job!!! Hugs Fia

Nora is the complete picture of your poem showing her joy in both smile (I am sure words too) and the posture of running with abandon toward someone she loves.

Only a child can do this without thinking twice about it because he/she is still close to his/her essential self. The second couplet betrays the dominance of our consciences.
The third couplet tells us that to make vulnerable is to live. To be invulnerable is to die, no less. And finally we learn that our poet like her son, is a very open and engaging person. The grand old man of modern psychology intones; "We must return to a state of childlike laughter.
