Miranda must seem like a mother to Nora. This is a very nice poem. I enjoyed reading it.
Teachers should be able to give children friendly hugs. Little children need these kind of hugs now and then. I like the last two lines "I pray when love is offered me, the joy of it is all I see."
It seems the joy has been taken away by too many evil happenings. People and children suffer when 'the pretense of love' is used by selfish and evil people who don't care if they hurt others.

Dear Brooke,
I loved the simple grace of this respetto. I still don't know what that thing is that makes one distrust love. Have we become too old and jaded? I hope not. Thanks for this lovely poem, it made my day--Ted

Oh glory be. This is just what jada needed on a day like today. A lovely poem, Brooke. I loved the used of words to describe how we often are blinded and run the other way. Time to stop and take stock what is offered. Well penned. I enjoyed. luv jada

Happiness displayed in her face. Well done Brooke. It is always refreshing to see children happy. This one caught it in action. Blessings

How true. Often we run from joy, thinking there's a catch 22 behind everything. There's hardships with joy, but then nothing's exactly free. At that age joy is naively welcomed. We were so much older then and wiser. Great! Les

Hi, Brooke.
I had trouble pronouncing 'toward' as 'tward' to keep the meter, and at first thought 'Joy' was a person ('Joyce'), so I must be having a bad day. :-)
Lovely theme and particularly nice closure.
Best wishes, Ted

tward, rhymes with sword, is one of those American things, my friend. I actually think we've had this discussion before. LOL
Thank you, Ted, for your kind review. :-) Brooke

Hello. Another super little pome with a great picture. I agree with your words...we run from that which is often best for our hearts...and towards that which brings us no joy

There is nothing finer on this planet than impacting a child for good. I am very proud of your daughter Miranda, who does this. Run toward joy...little children do this all the time ...I have little ones run up to me to give me hugs each day. I run to joy. Why we run the other way I have no clue
God bless

Miranda is the pride of my life. She is a great mother and a great nanny, giving both Sawyer and Nora such nurturing :-) Both children love her so much and love each other so much. Some parents have nanny cams to make sure their child's care giver is not being abusive or negligent. Nora's parents go off to work each day knowing they are leaving her in the care of someone who loves her like her own child :-) Thank you so much for your kind comments :-) Brooke

My daughter teaches special education. She loves those kids. Every Saturday she watches them play sports. Today is her due date for her first baby. Yay. Give Miranda a big hug for me...and pray this baby arrives safe and sound Emma Skye
-
The due date, how wonderful :-) Let's just hope your daughter knows how to be prompt, unlike me, who delivered my babies three weeks late and ten days late. LOL I will send prayerful thoughts your daughter's way :-) Brooke
-
My daughter Brooke was three weeks late and my twins were 5 weeks early... :o)
-
It is so good to hear someone else had a kid three weeks late! I mean, I love my son, but was I ready to unload him. LOL :-)
-
Ha ha . When I went into a restaurant and they asked when I was due and I said two weeks ago...I'd hear ..Get out! Ha ha :o)
-
My favorite was my relatives. They would call on the phone and then ask why the heck I was answering the phone and not at the hospital delivering the baby. By the time Eric was induced, I was ready to shoot them all. LOL
-
Lol...I asked what she was doing because her Inlaws and grandparent s in law are there ....just staring at her...ha ha ha
-
I went for three false alarms because we lived so far away from the hospital...when the doctor inquired who it was the nurse just yelled ..." The Harp woman!" I' m Jenny Harp...lol

A lovely Rispetto poem paired with picture make a great presentation. With happy and loving children, the actual relationship does not matter. It only matters when one or the other moves on to other relationships. Thanks for your note and the introduction of Nora. Bob
