How very wonderful the message is in this poem. I love the photograph too - not only suits this rispetto, but fairly leaps from the page with joy, as do the powerful word choices. You are such an inspiration! (The "awww" factor is at work again!)

Thank you so much, Dawn. Miranda posted the picture on Fan Story to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the day she started taking care of Nora. She had a couple of less than satisfactory employers before she found Nora and her family. You would not even believe how some rich people treat "the help." - what a great five years this has been :-) Brooke

Oh, I would believe how some wealthy people can behave, believe me! Been in their path many times. Some (few) are wonderful, but SOME? Pretension, arrogance - oh, I'll shut up 'cause if I don't, I'll bore you to tears. (LOL) But it's difficult to swallow, and worse when you have to stand by as the attitude is portrayed to a loved one. Momma Bear syndrome. GRRRRRRR.... (LOL)"Wanna slap that stupid sneer offa your face, you witch/warlock." << and NOT what I'd REALLY call 'em. HAHAHAHAHA.
How terrific that Miranda found such great employers - sounds like they are smart enough to know that Miranda's job is more important - she's raising their child!!!
She's sure a great photographer. I've always believed the best photos tell a story, and hers always do. :)

Okay, what happened to "Don't trust strangers"? Sorry, there's just too much kidnapping out there. However, this would apply indeed to people you trust. LOL

It is true, what you say. It seems as if loving gestures are almost suspicious now. When someone's husband brings home flowers for no apparent reason, most people think he's done something wrong. Just look at the little girl's face. Eager to embrace. Beautiful poem.

Important and deep message to stir up ones thinking.
But it's the last 2 lines that physically embarked goosebumps on my arm, for you said it so perfectly what it is that's on my mind, for a last relationship to find me and joy from the love is all I see.
So goooooood that wish.
good work Brooke

What a great message in this rispetto Brooke. Too many are afraid to embrace love because they fear rejection, or betrayal.
Enjoy while you can, life is too short not too.
Thanks for sharing.

Another wonderful poem with great message. It puts me in mind of those friendly hugs from both friends and relatives. They are an important part of a happy life - an expression of love and appreciation. The picture shows that expressive face so nicely.

Such a clear, sensitive message to embrace love and affection, not to cringe, because of the potential rejection that may come later! There are so many in my life that I am so grateful for, they all deserve to be loved and embraced! Love is the only thing that makes sense! Your rhyme and proximate were great, and it was rhythmically sound! Blessings, Brooke, Roy.

A philosophical glance at Joy and how we often react to its presence in our lives 'we race/away, as if it's a mistake'- oh too true- why one wonders -poems like these spur us into meaningful reflection

So many people deny themselves the joy of being in love and being happy, all because they fear the neccesary trust to make a love affair work. Your poetry is always penetrating and revealing of the deep seated talent that you posess. Another very pleasing display of your excellent skills.

And I'll echo those heartfelt, warm sentiments, Brooke (believe it or not).
Great rhyming in this, as usual. The picture of little Nora is adorable, she looks so-o-o happy.
Excellent work, an uplifting message for all of us!
