What a beautiful reminder of the gift that is joy. Your rispetto is flawless and the subject one that we all take pleasure in. Blessings to you, Linda

Children should have lives of happiness. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.

I'm not really licensed poetry critic but if I was I'd say that it reads effortlessly and tells a message I feel short of grasping many times in my life. Well said.

Pili, thank you so much. Besides being adorable, she is a little genius, as in astounding. :-) Brooke

I don't know why at times it's hard to see the light within when it shines - and embrace the dark instead. I loved how you made this come to light.

Hi Brooke. I felt the innocence and joy of childhood, but also felt this poem could be interpreted in more than one ways, such the fear sometimes to surrender to love.
It flows really well.

first line.. nine syllables. Does a rispetto always have 8 syllables? I could not find a definition for one. This is a good one. LOve it. Miss Sally

Miss Sally - in many regions, such as mine, toward is pronounced in one syllable to rhyme with sword. This is included in major dictionaries :-) Yes, the rispetto is written in iambic tetrameter. The heroic rispetto is in iambic pentameter :-) Thanks so much for reviewing :-) Brooke

Ok Brooke thanks for clearing that up. I'm always willing to learn something new. And thanks for the info on rispetto. I've tried to do them and have trouble with meter! got to work on that. Thanks so much. Miss Sally

Ah yes! How nice it would be to have that childhood joy again and a whole lot of that energy. Having wisdom is one heck of a price to pay for a trade. Don and Vicki
