Brooke: this little poem was a delight to read with its calming, easy theme and a reminder from Sawyer to "stop and smell the roses". A beautiful beginning for a Sunday morning. livelylinda

Excellent photo that complements your rhyming quatrains so well. I like the idea of Sawyer spreading dandelion seeds around and I know you do too.

Ah, two of your favorite things, Brooke. I enjoyed your poem and loved the vision of such an important carrier of spring cheer. Can Sawyer come to Indiana? Dandelion seeds already? It'll be a long while for those here.
Smiles,
Karyn : )

Karyn, thank you so much :-) Southern California has been having 80 plus degree weather for a long time already :-) I don't think his mommy has Indiana on their to-do list. LOL Brooke

The picture not only brings back memories, but it brings a clarity to your poem. Everyone remembers those. My cousins and I would blow on them and make like they were parachutes. As children we all thought of dandelions as flowers and not the weeds they truly were. With this winter we all need a refresher course in spring. Thank you.

Six months of wind with snow and cold
We've had our entered lion.
Now, where's the vaunted lamb we're told,
that makes March keep on tryin'?

I have always thought that dandelions are one of the prettiest weeds but they are a nuisance. But, when I was young they were a money maker. My dad would pay us kids for each lunch bag of dandelions we would fill up.

It is a cute picture of a child taking in the wonder of nature. You can't go wrong with any picture of Sawyer.

Keep writing

Joan

hello. Ah, the pleasure of those snow seeds. Did you know you can make a great sald out of new dandylion leavesÃ? It makes me think of them as less weed and more fun and even useful.

A lovely poem. It makes me feel happy to think of blowing dandelions with children. A beautiful picture to go with it. Thank you.

Love this. I take it as a call to return to that part of us that communes with nature as opposed to destroying it. We should all be as a child in wonder watching the seeds of a dandelion captured by an invisible breeze. Some of us feel just like that handsome young man no matter our age. Your words here show that you do. If only there were more of us, the earth would not be in such peril. Perhaps something like this will stir that dormant place in people. mikey
