You must have channeled Emily Dickinson for this one. Perfect for springtime, and we do need some springtime cheer. Lovely thought about transporting treasure in dandelions. Laying a golden carpets really gives us a picture of the dandelions. Beautiful rhyming couplets, and it flows so smoothly. Great alliteration, too. I especially like treasure is transported. judi

Well-written and very beautiful, Isn't it funny how a simple thing like blowing dandelions to the wind can be so special. How lucky or the parents and grandparents who share these very special moments with a child. Thanks for sharing. Sawyer is growing before our eyes.

Make sure he's making his wishes when he blows all the seeds to wherever they go. You always make a wish when you do it. Great job with this

I quite enjoyed this poem.

This part:
Treasure is transported
in dandelion seeds --
gives a sense to the beauty the dandelion brings, the looming of the spring.

It has a very smooth flow, really beautiful.

The quatrains make me wonder what this thing known as springtime could be. I have a faint memory of grass and the little golden weeds. Nice.

a golden carpet of dandelions. . . .many would not like that. . .we have become so. . . .accustomed. . .to the unnatural grass we work on so much. and yet, they are so pretty, the spring flowers, when not on a lawn in a suburb. . . .

Hi Brooke, as I read your well metered verse, I have to wonder if your writing this from memory, or with the good hopes of all snow-bound people everywhere, lol. I suppose Spring may also be thought of as a frame-of-mind, and expressed to others in a bright manner of attitude. So, are you getting a break in the weather, or any positive news of a break in the future? It can't last forever. Best wishes, Bill

Bill, thank you so much :-) We had a few springlike days, but now we're back to normal with snow predicted for tomorrow. I'm convinced we've entered the next ice age :-) Brooke

What a lovely two stanza commentary on an activity children enjoy so much and their parents and/or grandparents savour again what they treasured as toddlers! I love the rhyme and meter, the alliteration and assonance. This is a poetic jewel. Peter
