I concur Brooke! :) I just have to see the daily photos of Spencer(sent via iphone from my daughter-in-law),and I am a mushy mess! I knew a grandchild brings forth different emotions than those your children did/do, but am surprised by the power of these particular feelings. He is only six months old so I am soooo looking forward to what comes next and then after that ..... Lovely poem by a smitten grandmother, of her precious grand-child, that resonated with me! :) Regards,Jan

Jan, at Spencer's age and at Sawyer's age, every day brings something new. There are just countless causes for awe and wonder. LOL Savor every minute because one minute they're being all cute because they start to "cruise" along the furniture and then you blink and they're running around the park at breakneck speed :-) Thanks so much, my fellow grandma :-) Brooke

He looks like he's ready to go to work. Maybe he knows it's tax time and he's getting a head start. LOL! Adorable rhyming tersest for Sawyer.
Truly how do you calculate love?
Blessings

I just love this one. Your love for Sawyer shines in this one. Marvelous love poem and I agree:
for feelings never hesitate,
and there's no need to calculate
a love that cannot be denied...
Just look at that face, how can you possibly articulate
the power of his winsome smile...superb entry for this contest and I sincerely wish you all the best.

Thank you so much, Valerie. Yesterday they had a pre-dawn earthquake that woke everyone up, including Sawyer. He woke up, sat up, then decided it was time to curl back up and return to his sweet dreams. LOL When Miranda asked him later if he remembered what happened he told her Sawyer was shaking. :-) Brooke

This is such a lovely poem and perfect rhyming tercets. I reviewed some of your other work that shows this little boy. Now I'm thinking he is a grandson maybe? What a sweet message you've composed about how a love for a child is so instinctually strong it is virtually impossible to define or describe. Having said that you've done a marvelous job here. Best wishes for the contest.

Another beautiful picture to go along
with your always heartfelt and warm
words when you let your feelings fall

This is simply beautiful. A wonderful love poem contest. True loved cannot be calculated or summed up in mere words. Love in action can be as simple as watching a child at play. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent question Brooke how can one calculate love,
I'm sure even modern technology cannot do it.
Great lines-
When numbers fail and words do too,
the only thing that's left to do
is let my instincts be my guide,
