Hi Brooke - This is lovely and an unusual love poem. Good picture to fit the words, using calculate - numbers. Good rhyme scheme in tercets which I have never heard of - works well. Enjoyable read. Regards and Good Luck in the contest. Dorothy

Very thoughtful and interesting write, Brooke.

Indeed - 'facts' play a very small part in emotions and love. If Sawyer said, 'one plus one equals three', you'd still love him - and that's what counts - FEELINGS!

Best wishes, Ted

Ted, thank you, my friend. Addition, now that is a little beyond his ken right now, but he does count to twenty, a number he must find delightful because he always delivers that word with a little giggle. LOL Brooke :-)

Oh - I lost a toe in a childhood accident, so I can only count to NINETEEN using my remaining digits. ;-) xx

Maybe that is why the number delights him so - it makes him realize he has all his fingers and toes ;-)

More words of wisdom from Miss Brooke woven in an uplifting poem. Too bad Sawyer wasn't wearing a suit and tie - he'd really look like a little executive, lol. Hugs, Lou

He had a suit for his Christmas photo with Santa. I wonder if it still fits. I'll have to ask his mommy. LOL Thanks so much, Lou :-) Brooke

Excellent photo and nice that he is allowed in his office and likes it. I think follow your feelings is a good item.
Nice entry for this contest, that is why I made it a six. Best wishes for the contest.

Thank you so very much, Ine, for your generosity. Of course, he's only allowed in the office with all that expensive stuff with a parent five inches away. LOL Brooke

Such a beautiful love poem contest entry.
Love is such a beautiful and positive emotion which shines so
Brightly in your words.
Unconditional love has power and depth of emotion and both are evident in this poem.

You're great because even mathematical terms can be used in a poem. Cleverly compared to the feeling of love from your inspiration. I love this stanza.

No numbers make a tidy sum
that shows what living can become
when love has made it all worthwhile.

Very sweet, Brooke. A love that can't be denied.

It is hard to put into words how much we truly love someone. We can propagate all sorts of fancy poetry, letters and the like, countless times. And still, our words fall short sometimes at conveying the depth of our feelings.

But not here ...

Your simple word choices and straight forward style get that point across in spades, here.

Well done!

You are so right. This is a wonderful contest entry, sending out a good message of what is important in life. No amount of money could possibly buy love, it is the one thing in life that is priceless. Good luck in the contest, Brooke, with this delightful poem. xsx Sandra
