Wonderful Senryu my dear friend. I'm sure
you were an excellent student of this type
of poetry. I'm sorry to say I haven't written
one yet.
Your poem is an excellent entry for the
contest.
I wish you good luck. Un abrazo

A perfect senryu. Alvin would have been proud. You have given the reader something to ponder. The connection between the words high and raises is a subtle added delight.

A very clever senryu - and probably a lot of truth in it. Eighteen syllables telling a saucy story. Would Alvin have approved? Very well thought out. Pity you could not have found a suitable picture, it makes for a better display - but maybe this was not allowed. Good Luck in the contest. Regards Dorothy

It certainly does seem that hard work is only one way to move up the ladder. Great description and a thought provoking piece. Well done!

Hi Nancy
So great to see this post. Such a fine tribute to Alvin's memory. He would just have a great laugh. I love your satori in the first line .... he always was excited by that. lol As much as we all feel so sorrowful, I think he would also love to see our sense of humour. Well considered phrasing, and a great deal of wit in your well executed poem. I always enjoy great satire. I like you haven't posted with an image and allowed your imagery to complete the snapshot moment.
Making a statement about human foibles, with a chuckle...... that's what it's all about. My best wishes for the contest ... you have a fine entry. Alas I have no sixes left. Love & hugs - Lovi xoxoxo
PS How is your eye? I hope it is healing well and you are keeping well yourself.

Hi Amada, you've lost jada here a bit. I can't always make sense of the Senryu's because I don't know much about them.
I should have taken a class with Alvin. Please can you help me a bit. luv jada

This offers excellent irony relating to the business world. The three lines are written well, and cause the reader to pause and chuckle.
