Brooke:
What a delightful whitney to celebrate Sawyer's newly
designed playroom. To be sure, he will have many fun
hours there. Perhaps his parents will frame some of
your poems for him and post them about the room for
him.
thanks for sharing
love,
jan

Jan, thank you so much :-) He has one of my poems framed in his bedroom, but yes, a couple in the playroom would be nice too :-) Brooke

That expression on Sawyer's face makes me think he's really conjuring up some good words. I'm sure he surprises everyone. Out of the mouths of babes, as they say. A good one, Brooke. Hugs, Lou

Thanks so much, Lou :-) He has a thousand words or more, and yes, some surprise the heck out of his parents when they are words a little baby shouldn't be saying. LOL They have to practice more on how to keep their potty mouths shut when he is around :-) Brooke

Wow, that's some vocabulary. You're bringing back memories of how I had to clean up my own potty mouth.
-
He's now learning Spanish from his new nanny - he loves mariposa and luna :-)

Brilliant work here brook. I found your use of "herd" hilarious! I would put the last line as "an extra would just be absurd" But that is just one of my herd escaping into yours.
Best I get back to my herd now...Blessings, Chris.

Thanks, Chris - I like the "just" in there too, but then I would lose the Whitney format. I so appreciate your generous sixth star. Brooke

Ooh, I need lots of vowels, Sawyer. Lots, cute kid. So are we going to play scrabble? :) Nice Whitneys, Brooke. They are so versatile a person can use them over and over. Well penned. luv jada

jada, he's not quite ready for Scrabble yet, but his mom lost count of his words at about the thousand mark, so soon... LOL Thanks so much, my friend. Brooke

Ahh, the ABC's of life. What a wonderful thing. Children can discover over time that stringing a few letters together can make the imagination soar to new heights. Mike

Those twenty six letters seem to fit the bill. Having an extra would really complicate things. LOL! Sawyer must be at the stage where he knows there's something magical about letters. He'll learn to read as he learns to speak. What a wonderful experiment is a child, "in its natural habitat". LOL!
I enjoyed the read, Brooke.

Thanks so much, Adrienne :-) Yes, he loves to sing the alphabet song and to identify words that go with letters, like G, Grandma :-) Brooke

Ben, thanks so much. He knows the ABCs and can name at least one word per letter, like G for Grandma, but now he has to learn that lots of words go with the same letter :-) Brooke

Brooke, you got it right there. The English language is marvelous because these twenty six letters provide the sparks of magic, which enables the talented writers here to paint their writing on canvas. Well done.

A lovely poem Brooke which deserved a six but I just gave away my last one.
Love the way it flows and how you explore the language in such a beautiful way; how words can be shared so meaningfully.

A little whimsy in herding those twenty six letters. Since English had adopted so many words from other languages, it's surprising that we haven't adopted more accented letters too. like the Spanish ñ. Neat job, Brooke.
