Moving right along, Mikey, but be careful about flying blind, as you could paint yourself into a corner. I'm not sure if Ma seeing David's murder is a good thing, though I guess Johnny had to find out someway, and it raises the tension. I'm interested to see the fate of the others while they were gone.
Thanks for making these 'hillbillies' good people, rather than the Deliverance "you shore got a purty mouth" kind. ;)

Well, perhaps these people that took over the camp are the cannibals the government was talking about and have the others "stored," or they're shape shifters from an alien planet, (why the dog wasn't barking-he was used to different bodies for his master), or perhaps they put a shock collar on the dog so he wouldn't bark and annoy while he's being preserved for food later. Or maybe and more simply, the others, lacking the leadership of Johnny and Christine saw these people coming and just took off. Might be the government wants as few of people left so a take over is easier- the one world government thing, or even just one country but run the way just a few want it. Read that Russia, knowing the country that would "win" a nuclear war was the one who could rebuild the fastest afterwards, buried all kinds of necessities to do just that so they could be top dog after the smoke cleared a few years down the road. Seems to be possible that the government didn't cause to happen whatever happened, but some of the "elite" decided to take advantage of the situation.

Another solid chapter. Another mystery. Great tension. Where did everybody go? What do the planes have to do with anything? Why didn't Ma see another group taking over Johnny and Christine's camp and tell them about it? Lots more questions, I can't wait for the answers. Good job.

This story gets more curious with every post, and I mean that in a good way. I think you have a real winner here. It is well written and makes for an excellent read. Cant wait for the next instalment.

Friend or foe, have wait an see. There were quite of few people to kill but and 10 or so bodies to do something with, dispose of. It will be interesting for them to get closer so they can describe what the invaders look like, age and strength etc.
