What a wonderful kiss from a stranger story. You managed to tell your entire story in only 100 words and done a very good job. Good luck.

I snuck into your portfolio and found this amazing little piece! Not sure when the contest ends, but I wish you luck. Your writing is perfect, no spag to be found. The dialogue seemed natural, unforced. And what a sweet, sweet story in so few words.

Hi Patti :) Thank you so much for taking the time to look in my portfolio. I really appreciate your lovely feedback and the good luck wishes (I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get a vote or 2!). The story is based on my own experience the other week when visiting my Grandad in the care home in which he lives... As I was leaving, one of the other residents came into the hallway and was convinced I was there to see her... she was so happy to see me, it was hard saying goodbye to her... my Grandad hadn't known me that particular day so 'Doreen' and I cheered each other up with a hug! Thank you again and kindest regards...:)

What a moving story. There is a nursing home in my neighborhood where I've visited friends and relatives from time to time, and more than once I have had old people with dementia mistake me for a visitor. What a wonderful thing to do, to play along with the lonely senior and offer a kiss. Brooke

Thank you Brooke for your lovely feedback. It costs nothing to give a hug and a kind word, many of the residents in the nursing home with my Grandad are so lonely in their own little worlds and a small thing like that really makes a difference. Kindest regards as always...:)

This is beautiful! I wasn't doing the voting booth this morning, but now I must go see if this contest is in it, becuz I will vote for your poem. I've read many of these 100-word entries, but yours is a stand-out! It's so perfectly crafted to convey volumes of innocence and caring. Thanks for sharing.

Good story, I really liked this. You have all the elements of a story within the word requiremnents, which make for an enjoyable piece. Good luck with the contest.

This is sooooo nice. My heart goes out to those who have Alzheimer's and/or no one to visit them in the nursing home and that's how I'm interpreting your story. Kindness never goes to waste.

Hi BeasPeas :) You interpreted my story correctly! Thank you so very much for your wonderful feedback. I really appreciate it, along with your generous 6 star award. My Grandad has dementia and I visit him at the care home each week. Many of the residents there don't have regular visitors... A smile, a hug and a kind word cost nothing but can mean the world. Kindest regards...:)

This is very nice. You told an entire story, but were initially vague, which increases the desire to finish it. You stayed within the rules of the prompt and then you ended it so sweetly. I can picture the dear old lady. I guess our hero is volunteering. Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.

Hi LilHippie :) Thank you so much for your lovely feedback and good luck wishes. I appreciate both! I based this little story on an experience I had the other day whilst visiting my Grandad at the care home where he lives. All the residents that share his hallway have dementia. 'Doreen' is one such lady... I actually ran into her after visiting my Grandad, she was so happy to see me, it was really difficult to say goodbye to her. Thank you again for your review :) Kindest regards...

Okay, you are probably half my age, but I am completely in love with you now that you explained that! Aw! Wait, you are probably a woman too! So now I am an old, gay, hippie grandmother who is a stalker! Seriously, that is so sweet. Aw! Now I love it even more.

Haha! I love you too!! Without revealing my identity, I'm a 38yr old mother of 3 under 10's :)

Aw! Whew! And you manage to write a bit! Keep doing for sanity's sake. I am helping my daughter raise her three yr. old daughter, and I need to write when we take breaks in the running, cooking, well . . you know don't you?

I do know indeed!! I have a 3yr old daughter also! My other 2 are a son aged 8 and a daughter aged 6. If only they had 'pause' buttons! x

That is a very sweet and diplomatic comment! You must snore like a Sumo wrestler when you finally get to sleep!

Awww...this is so touching, and complete in 100 words! What a lovely tale you've created. It was very easy to 'see' that scene, and to imagine the recipient of such a warm welcome. Good luck with this gem.
