Nice contest entry, Brooke. This cat looks well-fed and just ready to lie on a nice warm lap all day. Is this Sawyer's little furry friend.
Well written and best wishes for the contest. luv jada

thanks so much, Jada - Potato has been in the family considerably longer than Sawyer, but yes, they are fast friends when he is not pulling her tail LOL :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,
Love this very creative invitation in the form of a lune.
I've read that Robert Kelly, the inventor of the lune, wanted poets to have freedom of choice, therefore not restricting the topic of a lune. I imagine the same would be true for punctuation.
I am in awe of how you can turn anything into poetry! Keep up the awesome work. You inspire!

Some thing just DO go together - Bacon and Eggs, and Cats and Laps - I loved the gentle joy in this Lune, and so will many others. My new little Sheltie lays on me the same way, when I'm sitting with my feet on the floor, she lays on my feet (as she is doing right now)
I liked the Valentine's Day type ending.
Quite nice all 'round, Brooke. A joy to read.
Rose.

Mine is. My husband likes BIG dogs - We've have 3 German Shepherds over the years, and 1 greyhound. When my last German Shepherd died last year, we decided a littler dog might be a better choice for our new lifestyle. She's a joy.

Cats sit on laps and eggs go very well with bacon, just like you and me...
I see a clever poetic depiction of compatibility. Excellent work superbly presented. Enrique

Love the pic and your words. I can relate to this one. Love the analogy of fried eggs and bacon, cats and laps do go together as your words describe. I also like the pleasant feeling that your words bring forth.

It might be a natural miracle that those mysterious, all too independent creatures called cats can take so readily to us humans. How do we remind them of their mothers? Can the link be stronger than that of mother and child and does the child feel comfortably close to those complex creatures called cats. To complicate things, I say there are two kinds of folk; cat people and dog people. As for eggs and bacon; we might take to such fare with relish but I think our cats would turn up their aristocratic noses to it.

I love this and I am sure my smudge would too. That is his favourite place on my lap. Perfect syllable count and beautiful presentation.

Deb, thank you so much :-) My cats used to nest in my lap at all the most inopportune times as if they had radar to determine when to stake their claim. :-) Brooke

So cozy. This makes me want to purr. I have found that cuddling animals and children brings warmth within. Potato looks stuffed -- now time to sleep it off.
