This is a great pairing of things together. I have a cat and he certainly goes on laps. The poem flows along nicely and the question at the end is great.

When I read this I thought about my cat. Often he jumps onto my lap unexpectedly. LOL. The poem is humorous, and your 5-3-5 syllable count is in good order. Very nice job.

Thanks so much, Arthur. In my family the cats specialize in jumping into our laps at the least convenient times. LOL :-) Brooke

This is such a cute and simple little poem ... with a hint of romantic, but also a hint of playful, and a hint of silly lighthearted fun!

Hi Brooke
This is a nice invitation, and I think we'd have a fine afternoon...poeting over potatoes. By the way, you're always welcome to come and stay at our cottage on the Washdemoak. We have our own beach and lots of tranquility. You can write to your heart's content while watching sailboats track up the lake.
I like the pairs that go so well together in lune form,
"fried eggs and bacon/cats and laps/you and me"
Of course, we both know that cats only tolerate us so long and then must have their own space. We don't own them, they own us.
I can think of other things that "go together well, my Michelle"...
peanut butter & jam
cookies and milk
marshmallows and a campfire
suit & tie
babies and diapers
ball & glove
bills and a dwindling bank account
salt and pepper
needle and thread
We could go on and on, couldn't we? Your point, of course, is that some things go so well together.
Nicely penned! Thanks for sharing.
your fan,
Kimbob

babies and diapers - that is the one thing I never liked about being a mom LOL
bills and a dwindling bank account, not sure how much that would contribute to a romantic mood LOL
Thanks so much for the invitation, the laugh, and the stellar review, my friend :-) Brooke

Really a very unique comparison. So can relate! Your picture choice accents your work well. Good fun theme that says so much in such few words:)

Contrasting subject and good rhyming. Nice romantic tone or not, but very effective. Fitting photo. Interesting pairs of things that go together:)

Fun lune, that is a fat cat, does the bacon and egg get fed to it as well. LOL some things just go together and some things aren't for sure. you and me, perhaps? Good luck, Carolyn

I do like the pairings in this short poem. Cats and laps and you and someone special should and do go together. The only complaint I have is the bacon bit as it turned my tummy. I have a Jewish stomach. I gave up the meat of the pig in 10th grade following an experiment in my biology class. Haven't had it since and I just turned 47. But my complaint is one of taste not aesthetics. It's a fine lune, and I wish you the best of luck. Fine poetry and you go together too. Got to find a way for you get those poems published!!!! If I ever win the lottery, it's done...

There are some things that are just meant to go together. I like the way this lune goes from the familiar to the tentative question which springs to mind at the start of any meaningful relationship.
