Aah you have found my favourite things in one place! I am a fan of yours and this one just adds to the list! Love the pic, I used to have cats, in a different life, but miss their comfort (on their schedule of course). Great job, thank you.

I used to have cats too. Now I leave it to my daughter and son to each have two rescue cats. It's hard to support pets on a fixed income nowadays. Thanks so much, BC :-) Brooke

I choose to interpreet the theme as a description of "oneness." Certainly the first and second lines imitate an appropriate combination. As an invitation to another person to join this circle of "oneness" it is very clever and most concrete. NO beating around the bush here.. The piece has a subtle humor to it that the photo supports. What strikes me is that the words are so simple in and of themselves yet they carry an extraordinary weight in message.

Enjoyed this work. Congratulations on this effort.

How cute is this? Love the lap photo - my sister has a similar sized feline and that cat does whatever it wants to do.

Quick lines that really ask the question bluntly. As always, a lovely offering. Why isn't Sawyer sitting with the cat?

LOL - oh, do I have a story to tell. Today's Facebook video was of Miranda telling Sawyer to sit down because he was on an unsteady spinning toy. So he came over to where she was petting Potato and proceeded to sit on the cat, which is a far cry from sitting with the cat. LOL The photo was taken while Sawyer was napping :-) Thanks so much, AT. I suspect Potato was very pleased when Sawyer laid down - alone! jean

Lovely. I believe this my intro to this particular form of poetry, I like it. You of course have already mastered it as with every thing else that you try. I love the symetry of the verses. Short, sweet and right on time.

If a cat wants to sit your lap, personal experience has told me that you had better allow it to do so. Cats DO have staff after all but first, that's not a ba breakfast either. Very cute Brooke. Good luck in the contest. xx Carol

Thanks so much, Carol. Miranda reports she sat still for an hour to accommodate Potato. I think my overworked daughter just badly needed a rest, but that is her story and she is sticking to it. LOL :-) Brooke

It may be a very long time ago but I still remember having a toddler around the house and feeling just as your daughter no doubt does. lol xx Carol

Very nice Lune, Brooke. I'm not sure of the eggs, but I am sure the bacon would be tempting. I like the way you captured a whole story more or less in these few lines. Bob

Potato looks as big as my cat, Millie! The vet made me put her on a diet! LOL. Lovely poem, I am no expert on any of the little poems, but I think this one has to be right. It sounds and feels right. So there you go. It's within the rules. I really love the words, Cats and laps...purrrfect! Good luck in the contest, Brooke. xsx Sandra

This is so cute, Brooke, and I'm guessing it will be a strong contender in the contest. I like the rhyme and the lighthearted tone of the poem. Very cute picture of Sawyer in the bathtub, by the way. Looks like he's having a good time.

Thanks so much, Connie. Sawyer LOVES bathtime. His mom tells him it's bath time and he scurries to the towel closet to help get ready for the occasion. :-) Brooke

Hi Brooke,
you have formed the perfect pairing... perhaps?

A very visual lune and I enjoyed the impact.

Someone stop feeding that cat so much, any bigger and he'll need two laps!

All the very best in this contest.

With our thoughts we create,
things that fit,
James xx

James, in all fairness to Potato, Miranda has extremely skinny legs :-) thanks so much Brooke :-)

Oh, how good is this? I adore it! Things that go together like they were meant to be ... and the cheeky little proposition at the end! (You'll never hear me railing against punctuation!)
