This is adorable. Our two cats are lap cats for sure. One gravitates to my husband, and the other one to me. Enjoyable rhyme that you get with laps and perhaps. I like that you used a question in the last line. Potato is a beautiful cat, and I see that he has a striped coon tail. Very enjoyable short one! judi

Thank you, Judi. My daughter's two cats are like that too. Potato, the one on her lap in this photo, is usually the Andy cat while Pixie gravitates to her, so she was thrilled when Potato decided to have a nice long visit on her lap :-) Brooke

Good entry, Brooke. Syllable count is correct, but you already know that since you're an expert in poetry and how to do it flawlessly.
I'm only good with free verse, emotional poetry usually.

Your examples you showed on each line indicates that you know what lune mean, a connection of two things like circles. Of course I looked it up. Your poem has a connection, for instant ham and egg, cat and lap and you and me. Your 3,5,3 syllables are good.
You did a very good job with writing you lune poem.

Laps are a wonderful place for that type of warmth ... and love. Oh, yeah ... your last line ... I guess it does not just apply to furry animals (smiling) ... I like that too. Very nice poem and visual/sensual thoughts!
