What a lovely invitation!
Sharing repast
then lounging lazily
in languid ease;
with purring cats warming us
thighs to knees :-)

Beautiful cat...good looking lap also. My Dad loved cats, Mum would say 'no cats on the bed Frank' 'No Dear' and then when she was asleep he got up and let them on the bed.
Good size this one and love the name 'Potato' obviously a well-loved pet - how nice that is - Dinah

Thanks so much, Dinah :-) Potato and Pixie rule the roost in Miranda's house. She loves them almost as much as Sawyer, and that is one huge lot :-) Brooke

I thought I'd told you before, Brooke - I'm not interested in a relationship right now. :-)
First time I've ever read a shortie from you, and you're a natural.
That fat cat looks like he's had more than his fair share of 'eggs and bacon'.
Terrific perfect comparisons/combinations, bonus of rhyme and a very clever closing line.
Best wishes, Ted

As soon as I saw cats and laps in the title I got a warm, cozy feeling... just from the TITLE. Add bacon and eggs with my sweetie and me on a lazy weekend morning, and you have described the perfect life in three lines. Bravo! :)

Oh this is adorable. Usually I have two little Maltese puppies, one lying on each side of me and the Snowball gets up and lays on my chest and stomach. Great poem. God loves you and so do I.

That is one big kitty, and definitely a lap cat. Some of them like laps and some don't. The cat that I have now isn't a lap cat; she has too much energy for that, lol. This is an original poem that is especially fun for cat lovers.

Starlit Ink, we have had quite a few lap cats in our family's history, so much so that I've wondered where that aloof cat stereotype comes from :-) Thanks so much. Brooke

Wow, potato is one big cat. Takes up her whole lap and then some. Nicely done Lune of things that go together. The valentines card my husband gave me listed many foods that go together and ended with "I'm getting hungry" he he.

Anita, thanks so much - she also has a little lap, my skinny daughter. Don't know where she gets that from. LOL Brooke :-)
