Ha ha, a cute Lune, Brooke, and that's one BIG kitty!

We took in a couple of strays who somehow managed to slip into our back deck this winter. It's enclosed, and the weather's been brutal, so I suppose where there's a will, there's a way, just as they say. At first, you couldn't get near them. Not anymore! As soon as they see my wife or I--WHOOSH!--up into our laps they go.

Great poem, I wish you all the best in the contest.

Strays and rescue cats, that is how we have always gotten our cats too :-) Thanks so much, Dean. Brooke

Sounds like the morning. Yum! A great way to start. Has a pleasant sound. Very rhythmic and a nice rhyme. Lately, everybody's writing these short ones. Thanks for sharing. Les

Who could this "you" be, perhaps? A breakfast of bacon and eggs is good, if one is not on a one a day statin. The word quip comes to mind when I think of your poem. I don't know why? I enjoyed the wit. Excellent write.

Thanks so much, Tony :-) The "you" is entirely a figment of my imagination. LOL :-) Brooke

I have to admit that I am not a big fan of cats but they do have a certain allure to them. I am a dog man myself. Dogs have wonderful personalities. No wonder they are called man's best friend.

Tomes, thank you so much :-) I like dogs too, but am definitely a cat person :-) Brooke

A lot if women seem to like cats and men prefer dogs. I wonder if it is in our DNA.
    Take care,
    Tom.

Love this lune poem which hints at perfect pairings! I like how the writer chose an excellent photograph to enhance their words, further showing how the suggested pairs work well together, and insinuating that she and her proposed beau would also be a magnificent pairing! All that is missing here is the combination of peanut butter and jelly! :-) Well written, evoking images of love, companionship, and duos that were meant to be!

Rainbows, thank you so much :-) Sadly, peanut butter and jelly has too many syllables. LOL :-) Brooke

Bummer! Seriously I thought it was a unique way to show perfect couples! I also love cats so I loved the photo! :-) Have a great day! :-)

What an adorable poem, Brooke! Potato looks a fair bit like my Miss Priss (except she's less brown- more grey). Cats and laps - sigh - they go together so well, but Prissy isn't a lap girl. Is Potato about to share bacon and eggs? :)

Thanks so much, Dawn - I doubt Potato has ever had bacon and eggs LOL Brooke :-)

Things that go together. What a lovely idea. "Fried eggs and bacon." Mmmn. Choresterol overload, but so tasty. Why does all the poetry sound tasty today? Maybe I should have lunch. LOL!
Good luck in the contest with this lovely lune, Brooke.

Potato looks like he likes the couch. I like the short style of the loon and it's construction. I will have to do some research on this style. The photograph adorns your work. Don

LOL ... Potato is one fat cat! Unusual racoon-ish looking tail he has! :)

Loved your Lune poem, Brooke. Truly cats and laps do go together, just as fried eggs and bacon do!

Connie :)

Thank you for you positive comments, Connie - In light of the positive nature of the comments, can I ask why the 4 rating? Brooke
reply by bichonfrisegirl on 07-Mar-2014
    Ooops, my sincere apologies, Brooke!

I thought I had pressed the 5 star rating. I have gone back and corrected it. I'm so glad that you brought it to my attention. Nothing you write is ever deserving of any less than a 5 star rating.

I hope I didn't spoil your day by leaving you scratching your head.

    Connie :)

Thanks so much, Connie - you didn't spoil my day at all - I actually have people press the wrong score quite often, which is why I always check if the score and the comments don't seem to jibe :-)

Bacon and eggs only if you share wit potato. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. When it comes to poetry, you're the boss.
