First I would like to say that looks like a very hefty kitty and I could see that it's very comfortable's lying on someone's lap. For a lune poem this one has a good chance of winning I found it somewhat amusing and truly sincere for I think facetious reasons. Thank you for sharing am posting this for everyone And may you have a good one Brooke as always.

Hi Brooke, ( love that name, striking, but unpretentious ) A good short lune poem, expressive and succinct. Cats have played a huge blessed role in my family's life, so I relate to this one! Blessings, Roy.

Lune poetry is a bit of an oddity but his one is most amusing. Why is it that cats always seek out the one person in the room who doesn't like cats? (I'm a dog lover). They leep onto my lap and proceed the tear meg with those shapr claws.

I love the photo. My older cat likes to lay on the back of the couch with her head on my shoulder. Nice flow and a sense of calm and pleasantness conveyed.

This is a delightful lune and certainly fulfills all the requirements.
I like how you have shown the relationships that we often take for granted: cats & laps, eggs and bacon, and human ones.
Good luck in the contest, Brooke.

So cute, Brooke. The count is right. don't know about the punctuation. I love the cat. It is so big! I'd sure have one on my lap, if I could. I am allergic. Good luck in the contest. Miss Sally

What a great lune about Potato :) I enjoy the line "you and me, perhaps?" It's cute and shows the love a pet. Best wishes.

Potato o is such a cute and different name for a cat. I enjoyed your lune poem and hope it does well in the contest. I like the three pairs you mention in the poem. In my research of lune, the only rule the creator of this form is using a syllable count of 5-3-5, and the poet is free to use any poetic device they wish.

This is a serious lapse
And if something doesn't happen soon ......a relapse...
Diet fare from now on...or kitty's not going to make it to be able to jump on your lap. He he he
God bless

Thanks so much, kiwijenny. Potato has no trouble fitting on my ample lap. My daughter's skinny legs, on the other hand, make poor Potato look huge. LOL Brooke :-)
