Brooke, I like your lune poem. Things that go so well together! I like how you state the obvious in the first two lines but leave the reader with a question in the last line, almost to ask shyly if these two are also a natural match! This poem is playful and fun and well-written. The required syllable count is spot on. Best wishes in the contest! Thanks for sharing this with me. Love Potato's tail... raccoon-like! Too cute!

Nice picture. If only all our days could be filled with such easy questions.

The cat looks comfortable, although cats never look uncomfortable when people take pictures of them.

This poem bring in two different kinds of love.

Keep writing

Oh my goodness Brooke, I've been looking everywhere for Lilo, our cat, and there she was all the time, sitting in Miranda's lap squillions of miles away!!! (A bit strange tho, because I'm pretty sure it was her in the laundry last night having her tea! Potato has a twin called Lilo!)

Succinct poem, says much about a cats ability to make us feel relaxed and special because it has chosen our particular lap to take a snooze on! Great picture too. Regards, Jan

Very interesting poem. The eggs and bacon-the cat fills me with a relaxing warm Sunday morning lounging on my favorite sofa. Well done, Brooke.

Now, that's one huge Potato. LOL
Cats and laps do go together. I like your paring in this piece. It flows well from line to line, making perfect sense.

Best of luck in the contest, Brooke.

Nothing yet. I'm expecting company soon, so am getting ready for arrival in April. Also doing taxes... Ugh. Maybe, I'll start writing again in May when things calm down.

Thanks, dip. Yep, I join the contests because they're free to enter and have a big payout to the winner. Once I won a hundred bucks for a senryu, not bad money for 17 syllables. LOL Brooke

Hi Brooke,
I loved your take on the similarities between those classic pairings that couple so well, lol, right down to the innocent proposal of creating a possible new one. As far as punctuation, it looks OK to me. I realize there are those who live to split the detailed hair...some people's kids, tut tut. Miranda's cat has the same markings as one of ours, although, hers definitely looks bigger. Nice work with this lune...Best wishes, Bill
