So is this primitive group thinking democracy? Are they going to vote on the issues of the two potential problems? If I were there, I would suggest building strong cages for them, continue to provide food and care in hopes of eventual return to some level of normalcy in which they could get meds. The others might vote it down though. the explaining of the tents, store and trailer helped my distraction of wondering how the group were handling in constantly increasing number of people to feed. It will be interesting to find out if the new guy is friend or foe.

I think Joe's story is really interesting. Keep bringing in stragglers with tales of the outside world. Assemble the answers to the mystery of what happened bit by bit. It is almost like a Canterbury Tales in reverse.

Great description of the helicopter, a sign of wonder, hope and disaster. Good reaction seen through Johnny's eyes of the reaction the pilots had seeing their appearance more feral after months of survival.
Great information about the landscaped state of the country. I like the conversations that takes place, but am not sure who is speaking. This is a minor fix, but will make it a bit easier to follow.
Again good description of the food supply, and how they have managed for the passing months.
Good chapter, lot's of excitement and good dialogue.

It's the logical thing to do, kill them. Once their meds are completely gone, they could do anything. It's ok talking killing, but different doing it if you have never done it before. That would be the worst part. This story is really taking off, I look forward to the next page. xsx Sandra

Sorry! I stayed up until 2am so I could put a certificate on it then the site went down and so did I. When I woke up it was down and has been until just now. Thank God the writing is so brilliant!!! mikey

Yeah, I don't think self defence is murder. Isn't it strange how sometimes you write a piece and when you're done you look at it and think, "Damn, this is some fine writing." Then just an hour later you read your reviews and see some 4 star reviews and think, "What the ...." But like you say, it is normally from people who can't even write a grocery list, but then they want to come act clever with your writing. Anyway, this is a good piece of writing :)

I love the story. Your group is in danger of going feral. Large groups around you already are. What is left of society has probably deemed it too dangerous to rescue you. Your biggest danger is the mentally ill. But you have to start establishing your own society. Get the good ones into duties that will help establish this society.

Your descriptions are breathtaking and the idea of killing someone, anyone is frightening. To see how these normal, people are changing as the difficulties increase is quite scary. Part of me feels they are wrong but I do understand there concerns are real and very serious.

Great chapter. Starting to get a little info about what happened. So, if the Capitol is in Oregon, then the east coast must be a total loss. I see the time has come for them to start making real decisions. It will take a lot to leave the perceived safety of familiarity, but eventually I think they will. Good chapter.
