Ah yes... I know that look. LOL How, tell me, how can a grandmother ever stand her ground? This poem tells the story so well. We are helpless. I loved the lilt and flow of these rhymed quatrains, and the story told is one most any parent or grandparent would relate to easily. (My two year old grandson does something wrong and when I start to correct him, he smiles, waves his hand and says "Hi Nana." I always laugh. I can't help myself.)
This poem tells about a child who thought himself ruler of the world. I doubt Sawyer thinks that way, but somehow a two-year-old does have amazing power. Your poem is so cute.

My daughter used to pull that on me - she was just too damned cute for my own good LOL Thanks for sharing that :-) Sawyer is SO GOOD about almost everything. I've never known a child who is so cooperative about naps and bedtime, for instance, but he is just a very very very picky eater. LOL :-) Brooke

Ha ha. This is another pearl of wisdom from the author in this piece of writing. A lot of people think that you can't win a struggle of wills if your opponent is two. I beg to differ, but if you can't beat them why not join them?

LOL - that's the truth, Brooke. I can remember trying to reason with my boys at that age with questions like, "Do you really want to make Mommy bend over so much?" when they flung their food on the floor. My answer was more flung food, lol. Hugs, Lou

Lou, LOL. Yep, Sawyer loves his Mommy so much - he shows it in dozens of ways, but when it comes to food, it's every man for himself :-) He wants to eat cheese and crackers and a few other snack-type foods all day long and nothing else. :-) Thanks so much for your review. Brooke

Another lovely poem describing his nature towards the motherly orders. I like that look on his face. Children are like this only. They want to be the ruler of their life, no interference allowed. Excellent rhyming throughout.

Sandra, thank you so much for your thoughtful review. For five days Miranda held out and sent him to be with only his 8 ounce bottle. On night six he was still refusing any dinner food, and she couldn't take it any more. She gave in and gave him yogurt and watermelon. :-) Brooke

It's easy to tell this is written from the standpoint of experience. My little Justin is only 14 months old now, and he's following right along in that same track. Thankfully, when those moods play out, he's back to being his charming self again. Love the picture of Sawyer! It's sure to be one of his favorites when he's old and gray.
