Yes, I was entertained. A well written piece that offers brillint imagery and excellent dialogue. Those old world horror stories tend to be more horrifying than the modern ones. Nicely done!

Thank you very much, Pete. I'm sincerely grateful for the outstanding review. As far as those old world horror stories being more terrifying, I could not agree more. Some of Poe's works come to mind for me, personally.

Thanks so much again, my friend.

Just the thought of digging up corpse is creepy, my friend. You see, I was able to dress a murdered victim because no one in the family was capable. They told me I was very brave and could stomach holding corpse. If only they knew, how terrified I was and so many moth flies inside my stomach? LOL
The good thing was the corpse didn't look back at me.

I agree, bulletski. My wife was the only one in her family able to do her grandmother's hair for her viewing. She'd made the request before she died that one of her granddaughters, NOT the mortician, was to do her hair and make up. My wife did it because she was the only one who could stomach the task.

Thanks for the awesome review, my friend. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Oh jeez. This was pretty great. I knew it was going to be about revenge, but it slipped my mind and I wasn't expecting the ending, so it caught me off guard in a neat way. I was kind of expecting his wife, but the son is great too. The way she talked was a bit hard to read, maybe that's just me. I would have loved if she had killed him, but that's also just me. Entertaining nonetheless.

Thanks very much, Tasha. No, you're probably right about the dialogue. It was a bear to write and get it to where I believed it would be legible by all, but still sound authentic. I'd hoped it wouldn't be too much of a distraction. The jury's still out on that aspect of the story.

    I appreciate the excellent review.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your kind comments. I'm glad you didn't find the dialogue too much of a distraction. I was a bit worried about that. But, I needed Lidia's character to really come through loud and clear in this one, being as it is such a short piece.

    Thanks so much again, 24chas.
