This was a very nice poem. Very good poetic devices throughout the poem. The poem reads well, and the message is clear. It's raining here now, and by God's grace the sun will be shining here as well. LOL.

Wow, if this doesn't inspire your readers to 'look on the bright side', I don't know what would. How very beautiful this is, Brooke - the imagery evoked AND the message. :)

Beautiful words and well written. I found myself thinking I have those days. For me the poem was about emotions - a sea of emotions with the calm before the storm and then the peace as the storm passes.
Thanks for sharing,
Liandra

Just dropping by to have my Fanstory exercise and this poem of yours is a nice warm up, Brooke. It inspires the readers not to give up. That for every cloud, there is always a silver lining. We find hope in the darkest of days, and focus in the brightest.
Good morning, my dear and have a blessed week ahead. c", Mae

Yes sometimes the bad helps us appreciate the good. I know everyone up north as been going through some rough weather. I do hope it all ends soon and you can once again appreciate the sunny days. Very nice work with this one and a great entry for this contest. I wish you all the best.

Great poem, Brooke. We have shoveled from our last blizzard, but are expecting another before morning. Old Man Winter must be on steroids this year. Take care, my friend~Debbie

You know I love this one, Brooke. The ABAB rhyme scheme makes it flow smoothly as the waves when they are receding.
Great alliterations throughout and the message is what I like best: Yea, we can't appreciate the good days without experiencing a few bad ones in between. Annie says it best, "The sun will come out..."
