Oh dear, oh, dear, oh, dear. You're such a modest rogue! I'm sure you'll get slayed by some of the ladies you're baiting. This is so funny and gave me a good laugh, which I needed this morning. If you don't make it thru the slings and arrows this invites, goodbye.

Janalma, thank you so much for your wonderful comments. The rogue will be fine. With his armor, and more importantly, his codpiece, he'll be fine.

Intelligence and a pen can be very dangerous! Your poetrty is very thought provoking in that it is so titillating and yet so narcisistic. You gotta love to hate this character, let alone the writing.

This is wonderful, Marillion! I feel sorry for this devilish rogue who attracts such vilification - a real lothario by the sound of it... No wonder the ladies are after him and trying to tame such a beast! Great rhyme scheme and incredibly well written. I will follow your posts if I may? Hatter :)

He deserves it, my friend, so don't feel too sorry for him. Still, I appreciate it very much, Peter, and I'm honored to have you follow my posts. As I always do, I'll reciprocate. :) David

This is an interesting poem that utilizes the Hades and Persephone characters of Greek mythology to inform the going-on here. Nice reading.

I love the link between Persephone at the end. This isn't your typical Valentine's Day poem, but that's what makes it so darn good. I love the story that you are telling and wonder how many souls Lucifer will capture on this day of hearts. Thanks so much for sharing. Another terrific poem.

This is a very funny poem my friend I like the mention of Hades not being a tender loin as the only Hades I know is a Greek god thank you for sharing

Thanks very much, dmt! I appreciate the great review, and the Hades in the poem and the Greek god are one and the same, although I think you'll find that he wouldn't appreciate my comparing him to a tenderloin. :)

Why would you think you're winning pal, I've got your number pegged
It wasn't ME who made the claim, I don't believe I begged
I like the healthy banter that you roll around this park
But Rogue, look out this jester bites...and ONLY after dark

When mindless captives come to mind, well babes you take the cake
You wait all week to see what all your fowl leave in their wake
So shelve the crock that we've been had and you're not on the skillet
You may have morphed into a fish, but I can gut and fillet!

Read it and weep pal. LM(.)(.)OFF

Touche' RoVo...touche' --- THANK YOU and goodnight!
*bowing*

Hugs P

Only after dark? So you're a vamp...ire? Good to know, and I'll be sure to eat garlic when I come for you to protect myself in the afterglow. ;-)

No weeping here, just sleeping after another hit and run.

Nice quickie riposte, P, although I'm afraid that skillet and fillet isn't a true rhyme here. Still, I feel the love.

Yes, do take a bow...right in front of the rogue. He likes that.

Fun stuff, my friend, and Happy ValenFRY Day.

Well excuse the f**k me you slippery little sausage...last time I f**kin looked SKILLET and FILLET are perfect rhymes. I can't help it if you damn Yanks pronounce your shit differently. Geez Louise...who CAN'T rhyme those two words FFS? I was bowing, right about the same time I was flipping BOTH birds, pal.

PERFECT! The words read as though this meter was created for them, and them alone. Your irrepressible wit is very much to the fore, with your signature classy puns ("tenderloin"). All in all, a real delight (I wish I had a six - or a ten, for that matter!)

I really enjoyed the flow of this piece. To me, it was fast paced with a great lilting quality. ValenFRY, so hilarious! How you turned a poem about Hades into humor I'll never know, but it's great! So unique.

Thank you so much, Lynette! I really appreciate it! Nothing is sacred to the rogue, apparently. ;-) David
