Yes, if more individuals would listen to their instincts, we'd have many more artists! Thanks for reminding me of all those art trophies saved for decades--my son is 37! You even included rhyme and alliteration in your splendid Whitney. Many cheers and happy, last hours of Valentine's Day- Joan

Thanks so very much, Joan. I can tell you the names of the artists in my elementary school - by third grade the teachers had made their decision. Everyone else soon started to believe they couldn't draw, couldn't paint... Brooke

.....Those lines SO fit you My Friend! You have the wonderful instinct of expression. You follow your heart when you write and your words always touch the reader. It doesn't matter whether you're laughing, crying, doing something whimsical or writing something heartfelt and/or romantic. Brooke, yout talent shows in everthing you write.

Love your artistry! Write on! :o) Helvi

WE seldom tell other artists or writers just how much we enjoy what they do. I wanted you to know, I SO enjoy the way you write. Whenever I drop by FS, you're one of the first writers I check for in my PMs. I am A HUGE fan of yours.
Happy Valentine's Day My Friend! :o) Helvi

Thanks for the inspiring message for those young & old as artistry, being a great outlet is also very instinctive to our human nature..Along with a great example is Sawyer ready to show his artwork, so proud & family, too, to display it on the refrigerator, until his next accomplishment takes its place. I enjoyed viewing the happy face picture of Sawyer with paints in hand..

We all have our artistic talents. This poem is a wonderful reminder of that. Sometimes those talents are in drawings and sketchings, sometimes they are in building. Even those who raze buildings are in essence spreading gesso on the canvas of life.

And it surely is Brook. Every poem
of yours has a message to offer the
reader. This one is very cleverly
spread through the words and the
picture. Lovely picture !!!!!!!

This is lovely. I have kept all my daughter's artwork including a fun cookie jar filled with their delightful ceramic 'critters' they made with they were very, very young. I enjoy them so much I have them displayed on my bookshelf in the living room.

It's true that every living creature has artistry within. Beginning with instinct and going on from there is the way to develop that unlimited talent. I notice with kids at a restaurant are given crayons and a coloring book or mat to color, they get right to it. They love to draw and paint. It's wonderful when parents encourage. Your poem expresses the thought so well. judi

Hi, Brooke. Your thought about creativity is so true. Sometimes that instinct does get stifled as the child grows, unfortunately. judi

I like the the contrast of instinct and talent and the rhyme is smoothed written in. Lovely photo and the text goes perfect with it. My little granddaughter, Kayelynn always wants to paint when she comes over:)

donnadiann, thank you so much :-) I hope Kayelynn keeps painting and never lets anyone convince her that she lacks talent, which happens to so many kids in school Brooke

Oh I know, and she's two and knows she loves painting; she just sometimes wants to use my chalk too and that's another problem, ha:)

Hi Brooke,
Another delightful poem that brought back happy memories.
My Mom had a huge box full of buttons of every shape, color and size. My little daughter loved to tip them out and spend hours making crazy patterns. Pretty good by today's modern art standards. LOL
