This Whitney does a nice job of identifying the terrific potential in all of us to, not only be creative, but to direct that creativity towards lasting examples of a released imagination. Nice.

This time the author notes made me smile more than the poem, Brooke!

Talent is
unlimited
when instinct is the teacher.

I loved that! I find it hard to review short pieces, I just wanted to say that I loved the message. Great stuff.

Many a Rembrandt has began their life by showing early work on the refrigerator door. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words.

Thanks so very much, Charlie - it's such a shame that every toddler's art is appreciated and even cherished, and then somewhere in elementary school the adults start sorting out which kids are the good artists and which ones are pretty much told to pack it in. Brooke :-)

So true! The teacher that can nourish and draw on this natural instinct for self-expression is to be valued above all worldly wealth. We still have clay elephants on top of the fridge from thirty years ago!

Thanks so much, my friend. We all hang our toddlers' art up with pride, and then somewhere during elementary school too many of us listen to what the teachers say about who the good artists are and who aren't. Brooke

Give a child a ball, some paper and some string and he can create almost anything. Great write about the creativity of instinct alone. LorraineK

Thought provoking. Yes at first we draw or create on instinct alone. At that time we do not know about boundaries or rules, anything we can imagine is possible. Freedom. Well done.
