This sounds reasonable to me--what's not to believe? Very cute, Brooke. My stepson made similar claims many years ago, denying through his chocolate smeared lips, that he had eaten the missing chocolate.

My daughter, Sawyer's mom, used to deny all the time. I was hoping this would trigger memories in others :-) Thanks so much. Brooke

LOL!!! This poem is as cute as the expression on Sawyer's face and that's priceless. Well written, ADP! Great marriage of poetry and artwork, it's fun to read, and a presentation to savor - now and for posterity.

Dear Brooke,

LOL. When accused of doing something wrong a little kid will oft claim he/she wasn't responsible. It was my phantom friend. Well written and highlights your grandson's crime.

Warm regards,

Winslow

What an adorable poem! I love how your poems can totally take us back to our own childhoods. And Sawyer is so cute there with his delicious "cuptake".

I agree, how can that innocent face be guilty?
All in all, I am sure there has been a misunderstanding.
I think the culprit may have been me . :)
A nice little write, with innocence the heart of the write.
Good clean write, Brooke,
Best wishes,
RGstar

RG, I am declaring here and now Sawyer is never going to be guilty of anything! LOL I wish that had been true of his mother and Uncle Eric. :-) Thanks so much. Brooke

Such a sweet guilty perplexed look on the boy's cute face. I strongly believe his Mom of Dad set him up to take the cake and eat it too. :-)

This is delightful! Those innocent eyes and pink coated lips! Your flow of words have expressed this young man's thoughts so well. I am reminded of a saying my father used to often repeat...'the value of evidence'

very clever rhymes...

"Someone must have slipped the cake
in my unwilling hands,
but I am not responsible
for where suspicion lands"

...and a very enjoyable read.

thanks for posting this one.

Yet another fantastic poem! A day in the life of a young child. I think this flowed great and I loved the story. Great job!

What a joyous read you provide on this Monday a.m. I sat and read this three times because it is such a "picture" of human nature at work. the phot "topped it off."

In his play Timon Of Athens, WS writes: "THe sun's a thief, and with his great attraction robs the vast sea. . . ."
So, innocence of face in this young culprit is worthy of forgiveness.
