It is scary that some people do not see through this. You gave a nice sarcastic explanation of the show. I watched it once too and never watched again. (I really don't watch much tv anyway.) Enjoyed it.
Blessings,
Maria C.

I have heard of Benny Hinn but am happy to say I have never watched him. In fact, I don't watch televangelist.
Very well done satire and humor throughout. Good work Dennis.

You're so good at this satire business.
I'm glad to know that I can cut down on reading the Bible because Benny told me, in his own words, that the Spirit talks right to us, directly. -ha,ha.
A light touch doesn't hurt to bring the Truth of the Gospel to your listeners.

I like the tongue in cheek approach you use here. I have never watched the guy myself, just heard much about him. There are so many charlatans out there. Thank God the truth is right there in the Bible if we want to search for it. And Thank God for true men of God too.

I don't much follow the tv evangelists and I'm not familiar with Benny Hinn at all, but I love your touch of sarcasm here. Looks like Benny is out to make a buck or two. Thanks for sharing, Dennis. I enjoyed this.

I don't watch televangelists other than to know they exist and what gets some of them into the news from time to time, but I imagine this is an excellent characterization
Excellent satiric tone

Snake oil. the trouble with this: it will always find an audience. There is money to be made in a free America. Some say it is the price we pay, but what would happened if I said, " Homosexuality is a sin?" Did u see the delegation that Obama sent to Russia to make a statement about so-called gay rights?

No, I'll have to look that up. Thanks for reading and commenting. I have been very busy responding to reviews and have had excellent opportunities to share more clarifying scriptures with both Christians and non-believers. Here's a typical one:Jesus said, (Matthew 7:15) ?Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep?s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

The "fruit" of false Prophets is their teaching that either twists, or opposes the Gospel by denying it.

Benny Hinn, as a number of others of the money grubbing crowd, are in it for the money. It's nothing new, just now it's on television. Peter talked about it in 2 Peter 2; 2 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them?bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping."

Good bible teaching is balanced in both invitation and comfort with warnings of incorrect life styles or teaching. God bless, Dennis

Very true is your response but I will never touch anyone's life who teaches Jesus is the true way of life. God's ways are not ours. Shalom
reply by the author on 08-Feb-2014
Ben, the Apostles and Jesus taught the truth of the Gospel, defined it, and defended it. I believe we are called to do likewise.

The quote from David about "not touching God's anointed" had to do with him not killing Saul when he had the opportunity as well as the provocation. Rebuking false prophets is in no way the same thing.

They are to be resisted as demonstrated and taught in the Word of God. Only the Gospel can save through the grace afforded by the sacrifice of Christ. So souls are at stake and we are called to stand firm in the truth. God bless, Dennis

Romans 14 and let's leave it. I spent more than 40 years preaching God's word and seen more miracles than many would ever believe. Blessings to you.

The bodily resurrection of Christ is the only miracle that is significant in the long run. It authenticates all of His word and is the guarantee of our salvation because of His sacrificial death. Let's leave it at that. Dennis

    1.2 Corinthians 2:17
Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of God for profit. On the contrary, in Christ we speak before God with sincerity, as those sent from God.

Never took a dime but gave all I had. What was given, I normally knew someone in the audience had a need. God was always faithful to show who. HE LIVES!

AMEn Friend so glad you are a wake up to the Benny the Rooster types he seems to have forgotten that the qualification OF A PASTOR INCLUDES "HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE" HUH! Sorry for shouting mad caps lock. Same with Kenneth and Gloria Copeless and Joyce Myers and Creflo Dollar we know what his main conviction is right.
God Bless nice to meet another believer on FS. Saw this on the front page that was why I jumped in. There is a good movie (another of John Grisham's stories) call Rain Maker with Matt Damon and Danny Devito...with the old lady gonna leave all her money (she didn't have any left ho hum) to another Televangelist type hehe.

Hi Dennis AMEn Bro is it? There is a "prosperity" gospel that most of these quacks subscribe to as well. Joyce Myers is part of that crowd as well. We have seen God's blessing o us because of our giving to His Work and to Missions even as pensioners as we are.I should have been in church today (East Coast Australia here) but I had a severe vertigo attack so had to skip unfortunately. God Bless see ya round
