Loved the humor your words convey here. Your well chosen words always create the desired impact.
The rhythm, rhyme and meter are spot on as always.
Each Rogue write is refreshing and fun.
I enjoyed reading this.
Have a great day! :)

Love it. Absolutely love it. Perfect rhythm, strong internal rhymes, the lot. And the subject matter, with is dealt with so "delicately" would have Noel Coward weeping in envy.

Thanks so much, Reg. Although tempted to go "base", I actually find it more fun to say it more delicately. I appreciate the compliments!

I really think it's fun that you have this alter ego, no pun intended, that comes out every Friday. Nice imagery and rhythm. The subject matter is a bit tawdry, but goes with the emotion and the character of the writer.

Thanks very much, GWHARGIS. I figured we'd better limit it to keep it fresh, but it seems to inspire several muses, so that's a good thing, right? I appreciate the review.

'Lights Out by.'

You see, I vet the setting of our bedding with a glance,
So when we?re heavy petting, cue the music of the dance;
But as the song?s abating, I?ll desert you where you are,
And as the night is fading, I?ll be on a brighter star,
Excellent stuff.

Are you good or what? You're better than great! Made them happy and sad at the same time...Yet, there should be an answer to this, isn't it? Where should I find it?

There are several, actually, but they came before this one. Closetpoetjester, Emmex, Paula60, Ideasaregems~Dawn, Acquired Taste, etc. Thank you, my friend.

    I'll look into them!(into, hahaha!)
I've posted the last part of my war writing and I expect to get angry reviews about men's only obsession with women...

Hay? Ouch! Have you ever mucked stables or bucked hay bales? They're prickly as all get out. And cable cars? Every one I've ever been on was packed (granted I've only been on them during the middle of the day and never during odd hours), so you'd be risking obscenity charges. Although San Francisco is pretty liberal in what they, er, tolerate. :)

(Sorry, had to poke a little fun! I know The Rogue can take it. The poem really was quite well done and rather delightfully raunchy)

Actually, my labor was more curing tobacco and working in the fields, but let's say that the setting for these trysts would absolutely be as fantastical as the character himself. Thank you very much, my friend, and feel free to poke away. HE does, after all. ;-)

HI, David,

You should really collect these Rogue poems and get them in print. They are marvelous with humor, poetic flare and superb use of language. A most enjoyable read this late evening.

Thanks so much, Ray. I think I'll do just that when all is said and done. They're certainly fun to do, and a good break from the deeper stuff. So glad you like them.

Yessir, they are. You've created a certain esprit d'corps with this series that significantly livened up the site. I think many have enjoyed the banter.

Thank you, Ray. Many have, some I think have hated it, but those who don't like it can certainly stay away if they like. I appreciate your kind words.

Dear Rogue,

I'm encouraged to see you trying to take a stab at the comely ladies or is that the buxom hens, of FS incorporated. I however am even more encouraged than you are, about the arrival of other hens to carry the torch of waging war against the tireless cavalier Rogue. All in good fun dear man and that it has been.

You almost got a little sting in here:
I'll desert you where you are,
And as the night is fading, I'll be on a brighter star,

Nice job my friend,

Gloria

Thank you, my dear Gloria. The hens are well stocked AND well cocked, so it's a win/win for all. You know I love you, right? ;-)
