This was an enjoyable read, Brooke. I enjoyed this little tale and thought you captured the moment perfectly. Nicely done.

Looks like the child here is Daddy. LOL. I know they say men never grow up. See that as a positive thing. As Bob Dylan sang, "Forever Young" I imagine this was drawn from some personal experience. Thanks for sharing. Les

Just the look on Sawyers face is worth a million dollars! My money is on young Sawyer to win this battle against his Daddy! I'd bet is Momma would defend him just on being told she was wrong. I got a good laugh here. Again, I really love that look on his face. Great stuff.

Kingsrook, thank you :-) Yes, Sawyer won this fight without even needing Mommy's help because his father is a pushover where he is concerned. LOL Brooke

Beautifully done, Brooke. I enjoyed the minute poem very much. The picture of Sawyer and his father is cute and funny and accents the read very well.

A great way of looking at similar situations through the eyes of someone else, in this case a child! I sometimes like to look through God's eyes, as if He's talking to me! It's amazing what wisdom takes the form of, when looking at yourself through another's eyes, your perspective changes and contrition comes! Well, when the poem fulfills the requirements of this poetic discipline, the only thing I can offer is, well written and well done! Blessings, Roy.

LOL. This reminds me of when our daughter was little. Her father chased her round the house trying to retrieve one of his favourite biscuits (cookies). He was so precious about them, he'd hidden the packet; she found them and helped herself! Makes you ask, just WHO is the child! Very cute poem Brooke; an easy rhyme scheme to follow even without the author notes (which is saying a lot for me, a newbie poet, and says a lot about your ease with rhyme and meter).
Cheers
Paula

Dear Brooke, That picture says it all - great post and though your author notes scared me off I still loved the poem. Made me smile - and I say that is the greatest gift of all. Cutie Pie looks like he is having fun:)
Thanks for sharing it.

The other day Sawyer and his mom were talking to me on their way to pick Nora up after school, and there were lots of buses on the highway - he kept calling out - bus, school bus, big bus, another one, another bus, two buses LOL

LOL - Now that reminds me of Ainsley - doing the same thing when i went to pick up Courtney at school I think grade one. Ainsley wanted to count all the dandelions....and she did...keep counting:) LMAO - they sure give us so much to smile about don't they. x

Lucky for Miranda, he can only count to three so far. LOL

As every parent knows, sharing is a one way street. what ever is in your purse or wallet belongs to the squeaky wheel. Usually its a young squeaky wheel. I remember the days when the squeak was for whatever delectable I was eating. Cute poem and loved the picture.
