There seems to be an antidote
for all that makes me blue,
but nothing is a substitute
when I'm apart from you.

Great quatrains Brooke with an exceptional finale. This is truly wonderful for their is not substitute for you. Sigh.

Oh, what a sweet poem. There is no substitute for the one you love. I bet you do miss that little tyke Brooke. I Think it is great that Miranda is so good about pictures and skype visits. You are a lucky Grandmother! LOL Nancy

How sweet. I am away from my grandchildren as well. There is no substitute for being able to hold them and touch them. I liked the way the narrator was okay with everything but the last part. Nice imagery and the rhythm was great. Nicely done.

his is a delightful poem. The pure playful, rhyming make is a pleasure to read. The first few verses reminded me of looking through the eyes of a child but the last lines apply to every one.

Hi, Brooke,
This is a truly excellent verse with high quality rhyme, meter. figurative language and imagery (there seems to be an antidote for all that makes me blue) It follows a good rhyme scheme with consistency.

Super sand storm. I enjoyed your rhyming quatrains. Nope, nothing can fill the place of a missing loved one. I think Sawyer will end up with an Almanac the way you are pushing these poems out! LOL.

Kay, thank you so much for your generous and gracious response to this poem :-) On Friday he made Miranda call me three times because he kept asking for Grandma on the phone. :-) Brooke

You must have thousands of poems by now and they're all lovely. How can one person think of so many different things, must be God. This is a delightful poem and of course Sawyer is a peach as always. God loves you and I do too.

Again, another wonderful poem of yours. The poem gave positive replacements for things we wanted. Children are great about making so much out of so little, like a cardboard box. When life gives you a lemon, make lemonade. LorraineK

This poem is a very sweet love poem while also describing how a child (or adult) will make-do in certain situations.
Excellent quatrains with flawless ABAB rhymes.
Nice B-alliteration with bubbles, burst, blow.
Very nice, Brooke.
